No. I'm not sure how that helps the issue with my existing nsec being out in the wild.

Had some time to sleep on nostr-related stuff and I've come up with the following observations & concerns;

- It's going to change everything like Bitcoin did, but still needs more time to bake

- I consider the nsec for this account to be utterly compromised - It seems within the realm of possibility iris.to could lock me out of myself or take me over if they wanted to (not lobbing the accusation; merely logically stating a potentiality) Any other place that I've logged into with my nsec can pwn me too

- I'm assuming that this nsec as issued to me is in presently the control of sites beyond iris - as it was used to log in

- Having difficulty reconciling the legitimacy of this security model unless I have overlooked something

IOW: How can I logically trust a third-party npub/nsec issuer or any site I've logged into with my nsec? Seems I'm compromised the moment I step through their doors.

Why take the fight to Twitter when the Twitter moderation is rigged against you by trigger-happy snowflakes?

Absolute wasted effort to invest any further time in Twitter.

It's crystal clear the longer I'm using nostr for my social media desires, that Twitter is dead just like Myspace is dead; memo's just have not gone out yet.

Amusing thought earlier with this free-speech stuff on nostr; realizing someone has just as much a right to free speech, as I do blocking them for not wishing to see anything further from them.

The problems just eventually go away and your world becomes quieter and higher signal with every manually-curated block.

I like it. No regrets.

I have a pretty freaking amazing collection of graded Star Wars action figures. Will be building out a museum on the ranch hopefully by start of 2025. Started pictorially documenting the first 593 pieces on Instagram before I rage-quit the platform.

Instagram is one of the worst photo sharing sites I have ever used. I can't understand how it is so popular.

The world has gone insane.

I haven't professionally written code for over 15 years.

Thinking of cracking my knuckles, dusting myself off, and seeing if there isn't anything I might be able to help contribute to nostr.

Really excited about the development!

Honestly, it's one of the reasons I went with something other than Damus.

Figured the other clients needed testing, and I'm liking Iris. I've never even loaded up Damus TBH. Was only hoping to do so to test something locally.

If I can only get this block list issue resolved, I'll be a super happy camper, but it's certainly not an impediment to interfacing with nostr.

My firewalls prevent me from doing this, presently. Trying to find a way around it at present, and don't have the time to tinker with my local router port-forwarding - Ran into some stupid DNS issue earlier when I tried quickly, and my wife needs the pipe as she works from home. Had to abort the experiment quickly.

Ah! Ok. My main workstation is still an Intel Mac. Will wait around for a bit - I'm sure something is coming along any time now... I hope...

I've installed a nostr relay on an Umbrel build, and it's amazing how impossible it is finding a proper nostr client to run locally to connect to my firewalled relay. Don't want to expose it to clearnet or running over TOR either for now. I like to test in private kinda deal. Looking for something I can point at a local, private relay and hack around with.

I'd like to know too. Was swarm-reported by some snowflakes I offended best I could tell - "You broke the rules. Not gunna tell you which one. Sorry. Sit in the corner for 7 days" - I don't have time for that juvenile treatment moving forward.

Aggressively cutting out as much negativity as I can, and Twitter has become pure cancer.
