Reading “big kid” books to young children is one of the best ways to do it. You can sense their vocabulary building as the “what’s that word mean?” questions become increasingly less frequent.

I heard someone today say, “a vain pursuit of perfection,” meaning it couldn’t be achieved. But it got me to thinking about the other meaning of “vain.” One of those “huh” moments.

I kid, of course. I used to pay for their stuff for my consulting business, but got so sick of their shenanigans that I ended up ripping my whole life away from their ecosystem. And I was deeeep in it, too. I was one of the first people to get an invite to Gmail back in the day from an insider who got an early batch of codes.

Is perfectionism born of vanity? 🤔
