Good morning. Today will be the start of some cooler, drier days and even cooler nights (mid-40Fs). The past week has been rather humid so I’ll be happy to see that go.
Our hummingbirds seem to have moved on and we’ve far fewer birds at the feeders lately. It’s a reassuring sign that migration is in process. Soon our regular winter birds will settle in. It’s good some changes remain steady and predictable.

Good morning! Already on the road to PA. It’s rainy and miserable, but that should clear as we head north.
The cats did their best to convince us to stay, being their most endearing and attentive selves. I’ll miss them, but my daughter will give them plenty of love + attention.

Good morning! Summer continues and our heat advisory is back. Sadly, it’s becoming routine at this point.
Thankfully the local corn is starting to come in. I’ll head out soon to the nearby farm stand and pick up the main ingredients of a perfect summer dinner; corn on the cob and tomatoes. At least we’ll eat well.

Good morning! I won’t bore you with how muggy it is here. After all, it’s summer. Suffice it to say that I’ve never wanted to visit the Amazon rainforest and this summer has definitely confirmed that. In spades.
The positive side to this is that our tomatoes plants are doing better than they ever have. I’m not sure we got the better end of the deal.
I’m resolved to have the best day in the AC I can. I hope your Tuesday is a good one as well.

Happy #SofaSunday! It’s a cloudy day, but temperatures are unseasonably warm, heading well into the 70Fs.
Yesterday I noticed 2 toads emerging from where they’d buried themselves for winter hibernation. They both sat quietly in the sun for a long time. Later I noted the larger toad had retreated back into his hole. I can’t say as I blame him.

Good morning! Last night's snow was pretty. This morning's now, and current rain, is nasty. It's too slippery to venture out today, but the rain and warming temperatures should take care of it while I stay dry.
Today I'm especially grateful for the technology allowing me to have a long catch-up phone call with my sister in Chicago, participate in a genealogy webinar, and then join a town hall run by my two Senators tonight. A busy, productive day.

Good morning! It's very slippery here as well. I'm happy I filled the feeders late yesterday afternoon, as it would be too dicey to do it this morning.
It's now above freezing here, but there are of inches of slush on the ground. It's going to be sloppy for a while, as rain moves in. I'm just happy this isn't freezing solid!

I think the sparrows in eastern MD are holding a convention on our property. It's mayhem here at the feeders as soon as the sun rises. Soon I'll have to go out + put out more seed so there's enough for the late comers.
I'm excited for a 2 day "heat wave". Today, with luck, we'll reach 37F and tomorrow we'll see 40F! I can't remember the last time that happened.

Happy #SlackerdaySaturday. I met with the specialist/surgeon yesterday, and it is now certain there is surgery in my future. (Date won't be set until next week). It's taking me some time to process, now that it's a sure thing.
I like and have every confidence in the doctor, and I'm grateful my husband + I are retired so the trip to Baltimore for a few days won't be disruptive. The chance of cancer is low. I'm doing my best to focus on the positive.

Good morning. It's a slow morning here. Gray skies aren't helping my motivation with the usual Monday chores, but I'm slowly working through them.
My husband + I had a serious talk about spending habits under the new administration. We've got 1 or 2 larger than usual purchases we're moving ahead with now, to avoid prices that might be affected by tariffs. (I realize we are privileged to be able to do that in a limited way.) For me, it's time to face things that might be coming.
