So often, people are careful walking to their car, then they stretch and twist while cleaning it and fall. I ended up halfway beneath my car years ago when I flung open the driver's side door and my feet went out from beneath me. How dignified. 🤣
I do my best to be careful the entire time! But you never know when a bit of ice will slide underneath your feet.
I love the idea of a single digit day. I've been having a lot of them lately, but didn't know what to call them. Now I do. Thank you.
Good morning!
No early morning walk today in the snow. It's too slippery out there for me. I'll get my exercise later clearing the snow off my car and getting it moved out of its current parking space to one that has been plowed.
And then I'll do my usual chores and writing and reading and resting.

Good morning!
This morning the sun was shining and it was almost 40 F (4 C) when I went out for my early-morning walk. There are buds ready to open on the flowering trees, and in another week or maybe less it's going to be gorgeous.
Another day of writing, reading, household chores. And if my chronic pain is not too bad, maybe another walk.

#Today I have to see a cardiologist. I've never seen one before, and I'm nervous about the whole thing. I didn't think there was anything wrong with my heart, but they did a chest scan for something else...and this is the result.

Maybe you'll get lucky like I did. The pharmacist had told me it would be at least another week when I asked a few days ago. I was very surprised that they had the vaccine today.

We've had three days of beautiful weather, and also three days of PECO helicopters flying very, very low to check the power lines and towers. I had to close my windows because of the noise.

It's going to be a quiet, relaxing day. Unless something weird happens. You never know.
At my age, when friends get together to talk, it always begins with a recounting of our aches and pains, recent doctor visits, new diagnoses, etc. A friend has decided to call this the "organ recital."

#Today I went out early for my walk, then came back to coffee and breakfast. I plan a quiet day working on the third draft of my book. It's nice to have a day when I don't need to go anywhere and can focus all my attention on my writing. I'll take some breaks and do a bit of housecleaning now and then, spend some time reading and playing with the cat. It's going to be a hot day, and I am, as always, grateful for A/C having lived most of my life without it.

Normally when I finish writing something to the point that I can send it off to be read, I have another project that's been percolating in the back of my mind and I start playing with it. This time, I sent my new Cordwainer book to my beta reader and I have nothing. Nada. Zip.
What am I going to do with myself? I feel lost, bereft.

Good morning! #Today I got out early for my walk, thinking it would be fresh and cool outside after the rain last night. Nope, it was humid, hot, and sticky. I'm glad I walked anyway. Now, a day of writing and hassling with the dishwasher situation. Do not ever buy a Frigidaire dishwasher.
Not quite #today, but it's what I've got. Yesterday I had lunch with friends, one of whom has begun needing a cane to walk. I love the fact that she immediately purchased six different canes in various colors so that they could also serve as fashion accessories. She was using a purple one to match her shirt. If you have to get old, do it in style!

#Today the replacement dishwasher for my new kitchen is scheduled to be delivered. If I am lucky, it won't be dented like the last one they delivered was. If I am even luckier, my contractor will have the time to install it today. And the kitchen renovation will finally be over.
Do you ever say to yourself, Here we go, the big climactic scene! And then forget entirely how to write?

#Today on my early-morning walk a red fox ran across my path about 10 feet in front of me. Again, it was too quick for my to get my phone out and take a photo. I love seeing the wildlife flourishing here in the suburbs.
Home again to a cool day with coffee and a chance to get some writing done. Nothing I need to do, nowhere I need to go. Even after 8 years, retirement rocks.
