Does anyone know why I keep seeing is message in #fountain? I swear my keys are correct and I’m able to post on nostr from within the app.

It seems odd that Coinbase can launch a wrapped #btc product and delist their competitor. Nobody is losing their coins but it shows how quickly things can change if you aren’t holding your keys.

Use this as a lesson to stay away from paper bitcoin.

Just heard the news that Gensler could step down and RHR talking about how he hasn’t been bad for Bitcoin. To me, he seemed to be bad for Bitcoin.

He went from stonewalling Bitcoin to controlling it through regulation. Remember how long it took to approve the ETF? Then the Ethereum ETF was quickly approved. No enforcement action on Tether…most likely because they buy a ton of treasuries. But we will get enforcement on mixers.

This guy seems to view #Bitcoin as a threat and has double standards.

It is death to censorship as long as there isn’t enough leverage to enforce it. There is no getting around the limitation of a centralized solution, which can be attacked. The decentralized nature of #nostr makes it very difficult to censor.

I’m glad that X is censoring less, but it is a losing battle to the freedom of speech offered by #nostr.

I just read information on the Retail Payment Activities Act. I’m frustrated by the direction Canada is taking. This is another layer of oversight on a financial system that has become outdated and inadequate.

The big issue I see is the failure to understand how fast things are progressing in #bitcoin. They are going to be trying to onboard thousands of payment providers while #bitcoin will continue to innovate without the need of such an act.

Who do you think is going to provide better value in a few years?

Happy Halloween!!!!

I’m looking forward to eating my kids candy 🍫 behind their backs until it is all GONE!!! Heheh hehehe….

Congratulations to Block! A gold star 🌟 in how a company can be run in an ethical manner.

I’ve been looking at the #bitcoin price several years and it just hit $100,000 when compared to CAD.

A cool milestone!

This is great. I will do this when I finally have to get phones for my kids. Holding out for as long as possible though!

Interesting chart. I don’t see a major event causing a sudden massive ETF sell by investors. As an ETF holder for a few years now, I’m more concerned with some sort of rug pull 😬

The point I’m trying to make is that individuals need to plan their finances to be able to purchase a home and may have to make compromises or get creative. The price of a home will fluctuate whether new or existing based on a number of factors. Most likely, they will continue to go up.

My advice for everyone is to try to get their net worth in the positive as soon as possible then look for ways to benefit from inflation. Take advantage of the system not be taken advantage of!

Real Estate Market!

The worst investment of your life!

“The Appreciation of Real Estate and Its Impact on Future Generations”

In today’s video, I present a different perspective on the real estate market, reflecting on how rising property values affect society, particularly future generations.

Does the idea that real estate is always a good investment really make sense?

I explore how the rise in housing prices can jeopardize our children’s future, forcing them to pay ever-increasing prices for an essential asset and often taking on more debt than previous generations.

After all, while rising property values benefit those who already own homes, they create increasing barriers for those dreaming of buying their first home.

Other points I discuss:

• Impact on the economy: This type of appreciation doesn’t improve GDP or create real jobs. In the end, it’s a redistribution that benefits a few while making access difficult for many. I’m talking about the appreciation of existing homes that aren’t even being renovated!

• Quality of life: Rising costs of living and the drive to earn more end up stealing free time and pushing back retirement age, compromising what truly matters—the time to enjoy life.

• Reflections on the future: Where might this cycle lead us? Are we on the brink of a social and financial collapse?

I believe it’s time to question whether this real estate appreciation is truly beneficial or if we’re simply worsening the future in exchange for short-term gains.

Is it reasonable to drive up the value of old homes with no renovations, and what is the true impact on our generation and the ones to come? Does it make sense?

Aren’t we, as parents, acting out of individualistic hypocrisy, sacrificing the future lives of our children?

The cost of real estate is based on supply and demand and the fact that it is a hard asset. The increase in price is a symptom.

I don’t want to offend you, but your thinking is misguided. If we want to make real estate affordable, we need to save in hard assets and look for ways to change real estate market. Don’t purchase the expensive home. Instead, purchase a smaller home or look into alternative ways to get into the real estate market.

Lugano, Switzerland. I think there is a conference there and they must have unveiled it as part of the conference. One of the most interesting statues I’ve ever seen.

What a fantastic statue. I love how it is visible when you focus or close, but is invisible from afar. It is very symbolic.

Kudos to all those making #nostr, #bitcoin and #opensource better!

I find myself using #damus as part of my morning routine. The content is positive, there isn’t anything being sold to me and it feels good knowing that it is freedom tech.

I’ve been a long time advocate for open source software who, a few years ago, realized the need for #bitcoin and now is seeing the need for a protocol that allows for freedom of speech.

Really looking forward to how open decentralized banking and communication systems can help the world.

Politicians can be so difficult to listen to. She makes sure not to give direct praise to Trump and doesn’t make a direct stance on the wall. If memory serves me correctly, they fought building the wall then took office for 4 years and didn’t do much. Now, 8 years later, this is a topic.
