While I definitely agree and believe Bitcoin is the inevitable “winner” of this series of events set in motion 13+ years ago, there are so many facets to the game theory.
One that i am always focusing on is the attack vector that is shitcoining. Though truth and awareness typically always wins out (particularly in a society with free flow of information) there’s no denying the people that use ignorance of people to divert interest and capital away from Bitcoin.
What really striking is the difference in adoption between countries closest to the fiat spigot and those ravaged by the implications of fiat. Those who are proximal to the creation of fiat have (many times unrealized) financial privilege that blinds them from what true utility and decentralization is and means.
Circling back to your suggestion; one thing that drives the game theory of Bitcoin adoption is necessity.
In summation; the quote necessity is the mother of invention, or in this case adoption.
That one of the biggest under the radar issues that many Bitcoiners don’t realize; by worrying and accepting government mandates and regulations, they’ve given permission to central authorities without a struggle.
They’re so used to being told what to do and controlled
, they’re giving up the biggest benefit Bitcoin has to offer; sovereignty.

While I’ve decided on, maybe, a less vocal path when it comes to who specifically deserves blame, I absolutely relate in frustration and actually have a theory: shitcoins are, to date the most successful ongoing attack against Bitcoin and it’s network.
It redirects inflows of capital away from Bitcoin and thus, by virtue of absence, lessens the potential security of the only truly decentralized digital asset.
Secondly, as the name altcoin implies, it creates a separate network (and it effects). This sounds repetitive of the first point but in addition to that siphoning, shitcoins use and weaponize the power of ignorance among people. Relying on half truths, fud, disinformation and false narratives to not only capture market share but rugging that capital away from those who haven’t learned the most basic, core tenants of Bitcoin; specifically “Don’t Trust. Verify.”
So while shitcoin sympathizers are indeed the face and capital behind the “movement”…they are patriots and puppets of the VCs and “developers” who DO know that Bitcoin is the technology and revolutionary disruptive innovation that carries the promise of sovereignty.
It’s they that look at this tool of freedom and see a path to greed and manipulation.
