In another video I saw him sprinkling roasted crickets on a salad. I like to eat salad with lentils, so I wondered which source of protein is cheaper.
Turns out lentils have just as much protein as crickets (whether plant based or insect based protein is better may be debatable).
Organically grown lentils are way cheaper compared what I see they ask for roasted crickets.
I'd take what you consider pest plants over free mulch that might be laden with persistent herbicides. I'm generally reluctant accepting free organic matter.
My father in-law gave me a sack of community compost. I did not like the smell of it, found an old pen ink-tube in there and fruit stickers. God knows what else got composted in there!
tl;dr be careful with what you import onto your property
Reminds me of this quote for lessons learned growing trees in desert climates: "MULCH! Think you've mulched enough? Nope! Mulch again! Mulch until it starts feeling uncomfortable." β Waldo Schafli
I haven't left twitter yet but a month ago I installed the News Feed Eradicator plugin which hides the main feed. I still use twitter to consciously follow a select few accounts and to use the messenger.
I can sense that people rage over some things from what I read on other platforms but the rage does not reach me as hard as it hit me before. I am starting to feel the positive effects of not being directly exposed to the twitter algorithms.
That would be on the client level?
I guess it would have a certain user base but luckily on nostr there's no vendor lock in. Can always switch.
That said I do believe that paying with money for services instead of with your data is the way forward
Sheep happily munch on thistles? If so, yes! Just turn them into a resource!
Is it really an invasive species or rather opportunistic?
I would call it opportunistic
What are the conditions that makes the thistle thrive?
They are probably growing in not that good soil, right? Hence the opportunity they seize to make themselves home.
Does it attempt to improve the soil and once it has reached its goal makes space for other species?
I'd guess they do, I have a few thistles growing on my soils as well. The soil here is in very bad shape and I welcome these deeply-rooted species.
The human body is quite amazing ngl

Had the reflex to hit the like button but there is non. Makes me wonder how much a like button is needed if not for the dopamine hit.
I know I am quoting this but it's also a rePOST #[5]
