Not sure if/how far I will dox myself, but I set up a web hosting account this evening. Not even 100% sure what I'm building yet.
I agree, having glucose and ketone measuring abilities would provide some interesting data.
You may be right about the 60 hour fast. I don't see much point in a lot of the intermittent fasting programs, as most are describing fasts of less than 24 hours, which I already do often enough, now that I am free of the 2-hour carb cycle.
Interesting about eating your omad in the evening, hadn't heard this before, but I can see where that may be truest to nature - spend the day hunting and foraging, prepare whatever you've managed to harvest, and eat it, then go to sleep on a full belly of protein. Makes sense. I know I try to wait until late in the day if I'm going to eat anything sweet as an occasional treat. My hardest habit to break was morning pastries.
https://strike.army - maybe not quite, but almost!
Thanks, Jac, appreciate you taking time to relate all that. I definitely agree, based on my reading, that insulin is key in all of this. At least in healthy humans, I'm also aware that even fake sugar will trigger an insulin release similar to real sugar, so by eating "diet" foods, we really aren't changing the over-abundance of insulin in out systems. But we also require insulin, without it, we die. The key is to have it produced at low, consistent levels, and by eating an animal-based diet consisting of as little sugars as possible, we achieve this.
It is easy to "fill yourself up" on fats and protein, and once you've evolved past the constant sugar cravings, you won't really crave food for some time after each "meal". Coffee can help here too, as it still works as a partial appetite suppressant.
I know I won't be eating much over the weekend, because I'll largely be at the mercy of other people cooking. So I do tend to over-eat a bit on Fridays. Still, most of my food consumption will be between 11a and 4p. My next full protein meal will likely be Monday, although I may snack on something here and there in between, like shrimp or small amounts of meat.
I don't exercise intentionally, but I do try to find activity when I can. At my stage, activity is more important, I feel.
My understanding is that fiber is antagonistic to epithelial cells in the intestines, basically scraping gut walls so that a slippery layer (similar to an unformed scab) forms and other waste slides through easily - but this also scars the walls of the intestines over time. By having only the waste from digesting animal proteins and fats in your intestines, these move along quickly enough without any fiber (again, can testify to this, I haven't had fiber in months). I was a little concerned at my digestion without a gall bladder, as sometimes it can be harder to deal with fats - but since I am not digesting fats as well, I think these extra fats in my waste are helping as well.
Thanks for the thoughts on fasting. Do you see fasting as more of a weight loss imperative, or something that should be done regardless of weight and overall health? I think my attitude here is that it is more important to fix the diet first, and then deal with some of the other points, as without a good diet, fasting and exercise won't make much of a long-term difference.
Most un#carnivore note for #zapathon, but someone more skilled than me could make this a dancing zap bolt...
Ice cream and cake. IYKYK.
I made the mistake of paying my bills before #zapathon. Wow, really sucked the fun out of it. Then I checked on my quarterly bonus. Now I'm even lower. fucking fiat mine is running dry.
sent a few zaps anyway. Why not?

I admit to getting sloppy over the last decade (or two), using GoDaddy as a domain registrar and DNS manager, and often just pointing a site to a Facebook page or Google Site rather than actually developing content.
So where is the best place these days to register a domain, manage its DNS records, and host a really basic LAMP based site?
No, this is not for another nostr tool (at this time)
Gm #nostr.
Speechless.

Today I tried out Communities (first in nostr.kiwi and then in Onyx), and decided to create a Carnivore group, after I zapped every carnivore or steak post I could find for #zapathon. Feel free to join, can't hurt to try it out. Never been a reddit user or even a regular message board poster, so no idea how it will turn out. I'd be thrilled with medium rare.
From last night's thoughts, things that still persist:
- actions (mine and those I observe/recall from others)
- emotions (mine)
That's pretty much it.
What have I eaten today?
- a pack (5) of Johnsonville Italian sausages
- a ribeye steak
- butter (unsalted) - maybe 2 tbsps
- coffee (black) - lots. 60oz?
- milk (D) - a few glugs from the jug
- pepperoni (pillow pouch - 5 oz?)
- a couple bites of some carnitas (premade store stuff) that my wife made.
- water

What is C-SOME?
Rode my motorcycle again today.
I will learn how to ride my motorcycle.
Adequately adapted to what? Not having carbs or sugars, so burning ketones? Yeah, I can go 48 hours without a meal, no problem. I tend to do this on the weekends, actually, and then eat twice a day during the week, but my earlier meal is more of a snack, like 12oz of ahrimp.
I haven't seen the need for fiber for myself. My theory is that is is ONLY useful if you are still eating plants. I don't want volume in my intestines, and since meat digests so well, the whole biome thing is much different. I'm not breaking down sugars, or much of anything with a cell wall. No flours, grains, etc.
I still take a daily multivitamin, out of habit mostly, but I'm not feeling any issues with vitamin deficiencies. What micronutrients would I be lacking, and why would I need them?
There's some evidence out there that you actually may need to eat more, and specifically more fats, if you are trying to lose weight and hit a plateau. I'm not really doing this for weight loss, although I think when I weigh less, I may be more tempted to have an occasional slice of cheesecake.
Thanks for replying though, just feeling out these communities on Nostr.
My carnivore experience began on Easter Sunday, 2023. Not because of any religious reasons, I just happened to be flying out to Orlando for a few days of work conference, and thought that would be an excellent time to test my ability to stick to it.
I was reading voraciously, everything from various experiences and testimonials, to the mega thread by The Bear.
I would say my approach is closer to The Bear's than to other more recent advocates. Basically, only eat what you need, and eat as much as you want. I've proven that I don't need vegetables or fruits, or any sugars. I mostly eat steak, but also eat a lot of shrimp, sausage, butter, even pepperoni and salami.
Not everything is optimal, and I could be more strict, but this is good enough for me. I see plants as generally either medicine or flavoring, and won't object to them when used as such, but I see no reason to eat them as a main ingredient or side, or snack for that matter.
I have a family, and don't expect them to follow my path. I cook them dinners that I won't eat, or may snack on the meat components if I want - but I typically eat earlier in the day anyway.
Feel free to share what works for you. I'm open to questions about my observations as I have changed my entire body chemistry and digestion. I don't have a gall bladder, and I am still overweight. I have no desire to return to anything even close to the standard American diet, or any plant-based diet.
Thanks for asking. 💜 She's home safe, and apparently the riots had no impact on her tour trip while in France; they were not restricted from accessing anything on their itinerary. 🗼
