Disagreeable. Prove me wrong.

Gn #nostr.

Is it ironic that on labor day, significantly less labor is performed? Seems like one of those driveway/parkway sort of things.

Back to laboring in the fiat mines tomorrow, and I shall endeavor not to wear white clothing for a bit. (Or ever, really)

It's not that I see it. It is what I think of immediately after seeing the image.

Wait - I didn't say shitcoin casino, did I? I actually thought coinbase first, thought maybe I shouldn't name names, typed shitcoin casino, said fuck it, erased it, and wrote Coinbase and Robinhood.

Somehow you read my mind, or at least my intent. Brilliant!

Being disagreeable just means my first inclination is to disagree. It's the way I process new information - first, disagree with it, shoot as many flaming arrows as I can at it, try to break it, hold it up against my present understanding and see every way it doesn't work, before determining some level of importance, letting it go if it doesn't change anything, reaching new understandings where appropriate, and then agreeing.

Agreeing is often the end stage, but not the first stage. It can be tough for people thinking I just shoot their opinions and ideas down, when it isn't my intent, and I welcome their ideas and generally agree with their opinions.

Stating up front that I am disagreeable by nature can help me communicate with others, I've found. Its one of the early things I disclose when working with a new team, and appropriate here as well. It isn't all shitposting and taking the piss with me, promise. I really value the opportunities to interact with and learn from each other through the sharing of ideas.

Case in point, I would love to get some opinions on your dietary fiber / estrogen question. I think it is important.

Clients designed for what? If we agree that the use cases of the nostr protocol are myriad, might some have no need for this feature/option?

My mama always said ‘Life is like a bank of fiat. You never know what you’re gonna get.’

Boho, you can eat whatever you want. Anything you eat will have consequences, some good, some bad.

The idea is to eat with intent, so that you make your nutritional decisions based on the consequences. An important consequence is your own enjoyment or satisfaction. If you are able to align your own satisfaction with good nutrition, that is what you should do.

I do this by eating meats, eggs, a little cheese, drinking milk occasionally (between 1/2 gal and 1 gal per week), coffee, and very little else. This translates to what is accurately called an ultra-low carb diet, which shifts the body chemistry into a state of ketosis where fats are burned for energy, not sugars.

This approach seems to well for me. It has simplified a lot of things, especially the consequences of ingesting various things.

Are there ways to improve my nutrition, even within this narrow diet? Sure. Food preparation methods, harvesting methods, even the stress level of the animal providing the food can have nutritional effects. I'm not trying to develop the perfect diet, though. I just want to eat with intent, and be informed in my decisions.

When I said that keto has a lot to learn, it wasn't intended as a personal attack. I think keto might be a great place to start really paying attention to what you eat. Unfortunately, most people who try keto either don't get the results they hope for, or never kick the sugar addictions. Some at least get the feeling of having consistent energy levels, and this is enough to keep them thinking there could be something to the whole keto thing, causing them to revisit it.

I actually see it a lot like the bitcoin adoption path. Most don't go all in on bitcoin and stay there, from first exposure to self-described bitcoin maxi. Most get teased back to fiat, shitcoins, diversification, taking profits, etc., then eventually come back around to enjoying the simplicity of hard money.

So I see keto as the Coinbase or Robinhood of low carb diets. And there's a lot to learn as you go down the rabbit hole of dietary sovereignty.

Love you, boho! I know you are more aware than most of your own biology, more aware than I am, and you act with intent, so you are already well on your way with all of this. Don't let me hold you back with my disagreeableness!

I actually didn't have an issue with your original statement, and was just digging at something adjacent to it.

Your new statement has a lot of negatives in it, but I think can be summed up as people think they are at least trying to be good, most of the time.

And if you are thinking within the framework of good/bad, right/wrong, as most people are, then you're probably right.

I generally reject this framework, and believe people act to achieve what they perceive to be a "better" future state.

But "better" is very subjective; could be very self-serving, could appear to be sacrificial. Could be self-effacing. And it is all dependent on the actor's perceptions, which are not really knowable.

In the right/wrong framework, this easily becomes doing something wrong for the right reasons, but just as easily could be doing something right for the wrong reasons.

And in the right/wrong framework, right and wrong generally refer to the group, the community, the society, and how the actor's action affects that group, rather than how the action affects the actor.

People tend to be social and seek comfort within groups, and so generally act in ways that will meet the approval of the group, and so act "right" or "good". Long way to get here, but we get to the same place.

I understand what you are saying, but as someone who does not readily accept the model of good/evil or right/wrong, i find it interesting that just about everyone I have met believes they have done evil, or at least wrong. Isn't that precisely what the religious are saying with the concept of original sin? Shit way to see yourself, if you ask me.

Gn #nostr.

Today was flaccid. That is all.

Hope tomorrow perks up a bit.

I approve this meal. Lol.

You're not going to overeat cheese, dairy in general, or meat. Your body will take care of signalling you when to stop, but this assumes no sugars are involved.

Second time I've done this recently in the last few days, intending to respond to a thread, but instead creating a new note. This was for the asking about attending meetups thread. Sorry gang, I'll go back to my hodl strong and ride fast plan.
