I can understand that too people having so much going on that online is their way of venting it's like writing in a journal except yoy know other people see it & satisfactory occurs if one like is received & if not the viewership is satisfying to know how many people read it.

I believe no matter what we choose to do we all have a lot going on the economy doesn't make it better & everyones upkeep cost rising is putting people to a boiling point soon everyone will be a walking timebomb. The lucky people are the ones who can afford to travel they really don't understand how good they got it if you can afford to see a new place even once a month.

As for myself I am an unfiltered mouth online & offline by nature & I don't compromise my personality for anyone or anything even at work i'll tell a manager, director, or vp off because I know they only care about the production of work & even if they didn't I still would anyways because when someone does something that's clearly stupid I just gotta let em know. ♈

I love to debate if I am facing someone who is in an opposition on a subject we have different beliefs on. It's a good feeling when you know someone is willing to attempt to debate you because at least you can tell they are listening. It's not to impose one belief over another but to truly understand which one is more logical, rational, counterintuitive, & productive. It's hard to find people that understand that in this world.

So if we ever meet face to face I promise you'll have a fun time I can just engage in any type of conversation because I like to learn & I like to challenge other peoples minds with hope I get some thoughts ticking.

so true and spot on! Kudos to you though for being brave at work and for being upfront. I had my own fair share of this. Perhaps if we ever get to have a f2f or vritual f2f, I'll get to share my crazy story at work.

We are complex being, I have learned that the hard way. I have no problems about debate, challenging one's method, way of thinking because as we both agree — it's how we grow and expand our views and experiences.

What I would not agree on is the attack of character. I find this very low. I mean instead of discussing and debating on the idea, people find it entertaining to attack someone's character. This is very low blow. Whilst I understand why they do it from a psychology perspective, I still don't agree with it esp name calling. This speaks volume of their character, a reflection.

This is very insightful and defo see you around here! ☺️✌️💯🫂

the moment rules are imposed, people have to abide. otherwise, you are out. rules and standards are introduced to create harmony (ideally). however, it is in human nature to over step and would test the boundaries to see if the rules are enforceable. In addition, there is always people who will take advantage of the rules, wield it to whoever as it pleases them. hence, so many people do not trust institutions for this very reasons — abuse of power. 💯 understand about the "birthday party" situation. it is your house, your event and you set the rules. If we use this concept to the digital community, I strongly believe it comes down to setting the right expectations. How do we define censorship-resistant? Are we defining it the same way as the others interpret it? If I play devils advocate here, is nostr as a technology promoting censorship resistant is the same as a birthday party — is it the same analogy?

Perhaps if it is a group chat then of course, depending on who owns the group will set the standards and rules.

So for nostr, who set the standards, who set the rules? isn't we, the community, collectively — the people?

this is interesting discussion! ✌️ food for thought worth pondering. ☺️❤️

it must have been such a refreshing milestone for you. ☺️💯 so pleased to hear and keep going. you got this! ❤️🫂

genuinely curious, how did you get to this point of your journey — trusting your gut without doubting yourself?

💯 the crazy thing is, I can truly imagine this scenario. People are so brazen online because they thought no one will make them accountabl e unlike f2f. Exception to those who can walk the talk online and offline, who can say the same thing to you online and offline — to your face. But majority of it, you will be surprised what they are like in person. Some of them have so much sh*t going on in their lives that their way of escaping is through online rage, projecting their misery online to make themselves better. 😔

Okay, so first thing is to make sure you're on the latest #Amethyst and #Amber versions. Amber has to be uninstalled and reinstalled if you're on 1.3.7 or older. Backup your keys first.

Then get in another client. I use 0xChat. I know that works.

https://github.com/0xchat-app/0xchat-app-main

Find some butthole and block them in 0xChat. Plenty of bots, etc. in DMs for that.

Go back to Amethyst and everything should be working. You may have to re-block them all again. Don't "report" things until you know it's all clear. I'll be testing that. It may already be fixed, even, and I just haven't proven it out. There's some issue with the encryption on the mute list event when you do it with the report event and it borks the list, making you unable to change it.

I have literally spent months chasing that.

ty will try this

Is it just me that my #amethyst feed is slow?

Anyone experiencing the same?

so many subliminal messages

hardly watch hollywood film 😔 Unless it is exceptionally good. I mostly watch Asian series because the plot and acting are impressive with impeccable script writing. Sadly, it has been a while since I saw one in Hollywood. 🤞🤞 my fingers that this may change. ☺️

More like one of my favourite animes ✌️☺️💯

same here. I enjoy my own company but always enjoy face-to-face interaction with people. We are wired that way. But the decline of it makes it very impersonal and sometimes people are awkward in a face-to-face settings.☺️✌️

### Episode 1: The Addiction of Seeking Approval – How Fear of Rejection Holds You Back?! 🤔💔

Ever felt like you’re living your life on someone else’s terms, desperately seeking approval while the fear of rejection looms over you like a dark cloud? 🌧️ If that resonates, you’re not alone! 😔

#### The Pain of Seeking Approval 😩

Picture this: you’re at a party, surrounded by laughter and chatter, yet you feel like an outsider looking in. Instead of enjoying the moment, your mind races with thoughts like, “Do they like me? Am I saying the right things?” It’s exhausting, isn’t it? This constant need for validation can leave you feeling drained and anxious, as if you’re running a marathon with no finish line in sight.

For many, seeking approval leads to a profound sense of loneliness. You might have a crowd of friends around you, but deep down, you feel disconnected. Why? Because you’re not being your true self. You’re wearing a mask, and it’s heavy. The fear of rejection looms large, making you second-guess every word and action. It’s like walking on eggshells, always worried that one misstep could send someone packing.

#### What’s at the Root of It All? 🌱

So, where does this need for approval come from? Often, it’s rooted in our past experiences. Maybe you grew up in an environment where love was conditional—where praise was given only for achievements, not for simply being you. Or perhaps you faced criticism that made you doubt your worth. These experiences can create a belief that your value is tied to how others perceive you.

Cultural and societal pressures also play a massive role. We live in a world that often equates success with popularity and acceptance. Social media doesn’t help either; it’s a highlight reel that can make anyone feel inadequate. The result? A cycle of seeking validation that can feel impossible to break.

#### Finding Your Way Back to Your True Self - Authentic Self 🤗

It starts with **YOU**. Here are some gentle steps to help you reclaim your authenticity and break free from the approval trap:

1. **Self-Reflection**: Take a moment to ask yourself: “What do I truly value?” Write it down. Understanding your core beliefs can help you stand firm in your identity.

2. **Challenge Negative Thoughts**: When you catch yourself worrying about others’ opinions, challenge those thoughts. Ask yourself, “Is this thought based on fact or fear?” Often, it’s the latter.

3. **Practice Self-Compassion**: Treat yourself with the same kindness you’d offer a friend. Remember, it’s okay to be imperfect. Embrace your quirks; they make you unique!

4. **Set Boundaries**: Learn to say no. It’s not selfish; it’s necessary. Protecting your time and energy is crucial for your well-being.

5. **Explore Self-Hypnosis**: This powerful tool can help you reprogram your subconscious mind, allowing you to let go of the need for external validation. By tapping into your inner self, you can cultivate a sense of worth that isn’t reliant on others’ opinions.

6. **Consider Past Life Regression**: Sometimes, the roots of our fears can stretch back further than we realise. Past life regression can help uncover deep-seated beliefs and patterns that may be influencing your current need for approval, allowing you to release them and embrace your true self.

7. **Surround Yourself with Support**: Seek out people who appreciate you for who you are, not for who you pretend to be. Genuine connections can help you feel more secure in your identity.

8. **Celebrate Small Wins**: Acknowledge your efforts to be authentic, no matter how small. Each step you take is a victory worth celebrating! 🎉

9. **Seek Professional Help**: Remember, therapists aren’t the only professionals who can help. Coaches, mentors, and even supportive friends can provide valuable insights and guidance on your journey to authenticity.

10. **Find Your Tribe**: Surround yourself with like-minded individuals who are also on a journey of self-discovery. Sharing experiences can foster a sense of belonging and support.

Remember, you are enough just as you are. The journey to authenticity may be challenging, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. Join me next time as we explore more about overcoming the fear of rejection and embracing your true self. Until then, be kind to yourself! 🫂❤️

Stay tuned for Episode 2! 🌟

Cheers,

M💋

it is refreshing to see it as a super power and reframing it in a positive way. Whilst it is good to view it this way; what I have learned dealing with it is it can lead to excessive self-criticism and self-doubt because you want to achieve the perfect outcome or control the outcome. In an ideal world, we strive to make it perfect. But often, perfection leads to anxiety and self resentment if the outcome we want is not met. I'd say it is ok to minimise errors and win quality work but not to the expense of your mental wellbeing in the long-term. ❤️✌️☺️
