PGPro is a great app. Quick and easy PGP encryption of any text info or messages. And if you want to send encrypted info to your desktop PC, you can use an SD to export your keys and any encrypted text, and use a PGP desktop app like Kleopatra to import your key pair and decrypt the messages. With this app there’s no excuse to ever send a message or any sensitive info that is not encrypted.
If you need to send sensitive information from your iPhone to your desktop you can encrypt the content of a Note using PGPro on your phone and just email the PGP encrypted message to yourself. Then email your keypair to yourself separately. Go to your desktop, check your email, import your key pair into Kleopatra desktop, paste the PGP message text from the email into Kleopatra, decrypt it with your password, and export the decrypted text to a new text file on your desktop.
The great thing about PGPro is that you can also have any sensitive Notes files on your iPhone in PGP message format AND behind a Notes password or faceID. If anyone breaks your Notes password or uses your face to unlock a note, all they’re going to see is a scrambled PGP message locked up with an encryption key.
I have an instance of both running. Originally so I could send lightning transactions to myself between instances for testing. Thunderhub for the LND instance and Lightning Terminal for the Core Lightning instance.
If leaking videos of US forces smoking journalists and non combatants with M230 fire is considered “disruptive” imagine how the invention of Bitcoin would be punished.
I was wondering if since so much of human communication is nonverbal, how much weight or context is given to the other movements one is making while signing. Like the slight shaking of your head in the video that seems to be communicating a negative or “not” statement. Once again, awesome post and I applaud your use of the Nostr protocol to teach this skill!
This is a great initiative. My only suggestion would be to slow down a couple iterations of the phrase. Show it once full speed, three times at half speed, then twice at full speed. With a number on the screen for each iteration. It’d really help non signers.
Greetings from northern AB! Great thread Jor. I’ve got a couple of cures for which a malady already exists in the contributions so far, but they are both really effective.
1) Alleviate Muscle Cramps: Keep a small ziplock freezer bag of regular yellow mustard packets in your backpack or fannie pack, inside another small ziplock freezer bag. If you’re getting muscle cramps or charlie horses, suck back the contents of a few of the mustard packets, and slide the used ones into the outer ziplock bag for disposal when it’s convenient, instead of littering. Wildland firefighters often carry mustard packets for dealing with cramps due to the extreme physical demands of operating hand tools for hours on end.
2) Stop Hiccups:
Continuously and without breathing through your nose even once during the exercise or stopping to catch your breath between swallows, take small sips of water or any beverage until you are absolutely forced to take a breath again. Your brain becomes so convinced that you are drowning (like when you are being waterboarded but in a less traumatic way) that your first breath will be extremely deep and stop the hiccup impulse. I learned this one as a variation on the “drinking water from a sports bottle while bending over with your forehead facing the earth” method about ten years ago and it has never failed to stop hiccups.

It was hilarious
First attempt at home cured and smoked pork belly. Cured for a week, rubbed and sat for 48hr, and onto the Arkansas PK charcoal grill. All I can say is I’ve died and gone to Homer Simpson heaven. https://video.nostr.build/9ab3b0b39672c84886195e01c2bd02c43e8089be26d82bdfa0f41626aa95da39.mp4

The best rant ever. Just spewing sustained fire for a good ten minutes near the end. My boss needs to listen to this one and get me off these 2012 wages.
Had these road flares on my backcountry essentials list for a while. Self striking sure flame with enough heat and duration to light even marginal tinder in shitty weather. But they have to be kept dry. So I rolled each one in a ziplock bag and sealed it, then vacuum sealed that. And for the high use backpacks I put them in rigid cardboard tubes so they won’t take a beating rubbing on other gear.

Yep. StartOS. It kicks ass. #start9
Bitcoin.com should be sell off the domain to real Bitcoiners. Enough with the shitcoin coverage already. Garbage. Bookmark deleted
I think intermittent fasting and a real human diet with no carbs or simple sugars (mostly protein) are two of the best “secret weapons” I wish I knew about when I was a young adult that have had the most positive impact on my wellbeing.
#realhumandiet #fasting #carnivorediet
I think two of the most important things you can teach a young person to give them a “leg up” in life are:
1) the concepts of time preference (and, by extension, delayed gratification).
2) the idea that financial security today can really only be attained by acquiring assets and building a scaleable business. ie Not just working a J.O.B. as an overtaxed farm animal.
Bitcoin is a real journey. Just make sure you never keep your hardware wallet seed phrase just in paper. There’s lots of kits available to purchase that include steel plates that you can stamp your wallet seed phrase onto. Fireproof and water damage proof.
As for exchanges, while Bitcoin Well is great, you may also want to establish an exchange account with an exchange that gives you the option to have money sent straight to your bank account if you sell any Bitcoin. Bitcoin Well may have some functionality for this, but because I’m Canadian, they just have an option to send money to me by Interac e-transfer. A service which may not exist in your state. When you sign up to Bitcoin Well just poke around on your account page and see. The interface that you see when you login to their site may be slightly different than mine and have adifferent options for this then I can see on the Canadian site.
It’s good to have an account with more than one exchange too as a backup. Swan Bitcoin is likely the most respected one among OG Bitcoiners in the States.
Since Swan doesn’t immediately send your Bitcoin directly to your wallet, it’s advisable to just leave it on the exchange till the dollar value of BTC in your Swan account hits about $500. Then send it to your hardware wallet. That way you aren’t collecting all these tiny chunks (UTXO’s) that you have to consolidate later. But as a rule, don’t leave your Sats on any exchange. Withdraw them to self custody.
PS my current fave for a hardware wallet is the Cold Card MK4 from Coinkite. I’d recommend grabbing two of them and making them clones of one another so you can keep at least one offsite if you’re doing some serious stacking.
Glad I could help. Be prepared to watch lots of videos from BTC Sessions on YouTube on this journey lol
Bitcoin Well is awesome, easy to use and is self custody by default. Any BTC you purchase on their exchange goes straight to an address you specify. You’ll want to get a hardware wallet with a BTC address.
I think you can only send on the lightning network with Alby. Not on-chain on the Bitcoin network. You’ll want to have a set of addresses that you have 100% custody of to stack your main stack. Use Alby for fence post money and zaps.
You’ll also want to learn about taking those smaller chunks of bitcoin that get sent to your hardware wallet and consolidating them into larger pieces when onchain fees are low. Since moving them in the future may be cost prohibitive in a bunch of small pieces (UTXO’s). Just look on YouTube for videos about UTXO management. It’s important. Sparrow desktop is a great tool for consolidation of smaller UTXO’s

Here’s our orange cats. The last few we’ve had before this have all been orange too. Every orange cat I’ve met has been so good natured.

It’s amazing what a cool environment can be created when you don’t have an algorithm actively trying to force confrontation.
