Privacy is a human right and necessary for freedom. - VP of Operations at Cake Wallet - Privacy advocate - Host of optoutpod.com, a privacy-focused podcast

Please message with questions or concerns! Happy to help, have been a happy user for over a year now, and going on 3y w/ Calyx/Graphene

Simplify your setup:

- Always on VPN

- Google Play compat

- Use the Google Play store as much as possible (more secure, but of course FOSS tradeoffs)

- Use Google Camera w/ network disabled

- Use Google Keyboard w/ network disabled

Whittle down from there if you don't need all that functionality. That still provides excellent privacy and security if you limit apps.

Adding it today and announcing that it's open for anyone to use!

Aside from Twitter and Telegram, https://gateway.nostr.com/ and https://nostr.guru/ also support useful previews of notes and profiles on Mattermost, Slack and Discord now.

Add https://nostr-gw.sethforprivacy.com to the list πŸ˜‰

Tor nodes are easier to Sybil attack/eclipse attack but would at least protect your source IP, protecting rough geography etc.

We'll go into detail for sure on prevention mechanisms πŸ™‚

Seriously... Light-years ahead of my recent Twitter experience.

Barely use Twitter anymore, haven't scrolled that feed in weeks 🀯

Thrilled to have research legend and Spiral BTC grantee 0xB10C join us to dig into an attack against the privacy of Bitcoin nodes happening *right now* that most don't know aboutπŸŽ™οΈ

https://twitter.com/i/spaces/1ZkKzXdwAkaJv?s=20

Not only will we unpack what the attack is and how it's happening, we'll talk about next steps for how you can protect yourself against it and preserve your privacy when running a Bitcoin node.

If you run a node you'll want to tune in live or listen to the podcast feed later if you can't make it:

0x is an amazing person and has been doing fantastic work behind the scenes on Bitcoin, so I can't wait to learn from him and figure out more about an attack happening against our Bitcoin nodes.

Good evidence that a new entity is surveilling all transactions and tying originating node IPs to them, but I'll let 0x get into the details Tuesday πŸ‘€

Old laptop is great! Usually better hardware than a Pi and gets a battery backup as well πŸ™‚

Just be sure you have enough storage. Would highly recommend running something like RaspiBlitz by @openoms

Love seeing more people actually apply high time preference to *using Bitcoin* and putting in the work, rather than just "stacking sats".

Then run a lightning node and learn the tools πŸ™‚

Zaps *should* be a great prompt for people to explore doing things properly and cutting out the middle man (which was one of the most important reasons Bitcoin was created!)
