I worked in hotel accounting many moons ago and can tell you this is 100% true. Most of them are the same company too. Some owed tens of thousands of dollars and paid in fractions whenever they felt like it. I always joked that if one went under they would take us down with them.

Did you restore your keys on another device? Happened to me when moving from Android to iOS.
Zeus has been my go-to but Wallet of Satoshi is the easiest way to get into Lightning.
I stopped using them because of the high Debit Card fees. The old bank transfer takes forever to settle. I've been using Cash App and it's been great.
I remember Will or someone mentioning that he was paying something like $600 monthly just got the Damus relay. That's not including development of the app.
