Considering the Hilux is the most common Tactical, the AK should have been fairly prominent.
(But knowing how much the 2A community loves it's squabbles...)

If it sees a lot of dust and dirty during use, a dry lube would avoid attracting more grit and making things worse.
(Lightning or 3-in-One "100% dry to touch" are a couple I keep on hand for those conditions)
