Pretty much just my shower thoughts 🚿🧠 But I do other things like... Developer Advocate at Lightning Labs | Organizer of San Juan Bitdevs | Founder of Velas Commerce

Is this your first Halving? Second? Third? ...Fourth?

For the first Halving is was Googling "what is a Bitcoin halving?" 🤣

The second one I was at a BOB meetup party in Chicago 🄳

For the lockdown halving 😷was chillin in my basement on a MadBitcoins livestream

For this one I plan to be dancing in Viejo San Juan šŸ’ƒ

How about you???

If you use "low status" as an insult that tells me that you are a status chaser.

I do not trust status chasers. They will sell their soul for clicks.

Ain’t it interesting that you bloom as your meat suit degrades?

Below is a quote from the book The Velveteen Rabbit…

ā€œWhat is REAL?ā€ asked the Rabbit one day . . . ā€œDoes it happen all at once, or bit by bit?ā€ ā€œIt doesn’t happen all at once,ā€ said the Skin Horse. ā€œYou become. It takes a long time. That’s why it doesn’t often happen to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are REAL, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are REAL you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.ā€

I've read 20 books on Psychology... I need to read 4 more so that I can say "I've read dozens of books on Psychology!" šŸ˜

So give me some recommendations!

Gender based challenges are not a fixed total quantity. An increase in the suffering of men does not imply a decrease in the suffering of women & vice versa. These are mutually independent quantities.

San Juan people, are you coming out to the next Bitdevs ?

This months event is a bit unusual as it's on Friday.

We're expecting a full room and some lively debate on Bitcoin's L2's, join us!

I don’t have a problem with Ordinals, BRC20, etc, I'm just not a fan.

If we actually believe in permissionless innovation, and I do, then we don’t get to tell other people what to build with Bitcoin. And I see no moral issues with these protocols, I just find them to be short term ideas.

I suspect that 90% of the use cases currently being facilitated by Ordinal theory will wind up on other more efficient protocols. They will just get priced out. As well they should. That’s how Bitcoin works.

Define for me please… Bitcoin’s ā€œ3rd layerā€

I’m really not very motivated by money or status, and that’s a bit unusual in the crowds that I often find myself in… like here, on social media.

You do you, but I gotta tell you, I think my way is better.

I sit and watch the status chasers try to talk to the right people, and watch the money chasers try to buy the right shitcoin at the right time, and it all just looks so exhausting.

You sacrifice parts of yourself whenever you give your time to people you don’t actually like, whenever you spend all night researching things that you don’t actually care about.

O excuse me, I went to Dubai the other day and forgot to brag about it on social media šŸ˜›

What was fun about the city was how very international it was. I’m told only about 20% of the residents are from the Emirates.

It does have a very manufactured beauty and feel, but it was wildly pleasant. And I've seen SO many pictures of it that it felt like driving through Instagram!

If you’re going to set up an LND node, run litd!

When you set up your LND node using the Lightning Terminal Daemon you don’t just get LND, you also get Loop, Pool, Faraday, and Taproot Assets! All bundled up and ready to roll whenever you are 🄳

You can download litd here: https://github.com/lightninglabs/lightning-terminal

And have a look at some of the tutorials available that will walk you through the installation process.

Checkout the Speed Run video to watch Leo install litd from binaries: https://youtu.be/9svP0Fpp1ZQ

Or checkout the Launch with Litd video from the tapd demo series to watch a litd installation from source: https://youtu.be/EaPZ3EbTWhE

Can’t you just feel it? ...how epic this next bull run is going to be!?!

I’m exciting as Bitcoin has never been in better shape to really make a lot of awesome happen. The tech is now ready to handle some serious use cases.

It’s usable, it’s robust, we’re ready!

GM!

What are you doing today?

As we head into another bull run be careful what you get yourself involved with.

It's easy to get swept up in the hype and fomo, but ask yourself where you want to be standing, who’s hand you want to be caught holing, when the tide goes back out.

The fee environment has a big impact on how #Bitcoin are #Lightning are used.

Velas Commerce sees this everyday as they manage the logistics of different services and setups with clients.

With fees relatively high right now, this latest blog post walks through how incentives have changed, who wins who loses, what are adaptations that can be made now, and what further solutions are in the works.

Perhaps this high fee environment will finally persuade people to test on testnet šŸ¤” maybe...šŸ¤žpossibly...šŸ¤ž
