I think one of the things that grinds my gears about working with platforms, at least modern-day tech platforms, is the lack of support when you really fucking need it.

It seems like most modern companies nowadays seem to make getting support equivalent to pulling alligator teeth. It's fucking impossible. I've been sitting here for two hours trying to import an XML file to a site to import a bunch of content. I know the XML file is fine. It opens up on my computer. It opens up in a browser. It's well under their space requirements, and yet it is consistently failing to upload.

There's nothing about it in their help topics, and when I try to find either a chat or an email to support, there's nothing. It genuinely doesn't exist. Why do seemingly all modern tech platforms make support impossible?

For real though. On the flip side, it makes you appreciate companies that do it right that much more.

Technologically, Nostr really is a perfect way to implement social media. It's truly decentralized but onboarding and the overall experience is almost as straight forward as a centralized alternative. Plus, setting up a relay and participating in the network is elementary. How does it get better than that?

I’ve had the following experience like 4 times:

I don’t use Instagram except to dm my brother on occasion.

I go to some restaurant or coffee shop regularly, and I find a woman working there attractive.

Instagram recommends their profile to me.

This has only ever happened on Instagram. Never on TikTok. This has happened on my degoogled pixel with location permission denied to insta, and on my iPhone.

Absolutely. This is the exact reason I don't have Instagram installed on my device, even though I'm running Graphene OS. Just like you, I only use Instagram to DM some friends and family, so I use Beeper as an alternative to keeping Meta spyware on my phone.

Absolutely, but the Primal mobile wallet is one of the easiest and fastest ways I've found to get your hands on Lightning BTC. Making that ease of onboarding a more integrated experience into the rest of the Nostr ecosystem could be a great thing for future adoption

If you’re an Apple user 😉 and probably android too… you don’t need to wear blue light glasses 👓 just set the night shift setting on all of your devices at all time and more prominently at night.
