I'm doing the Bank of Canada survey on CBDCs & it's disturbing, I'm over 60% done, but here's a few highlights ππΌ
π¨ If you're Canadian, do the survey! https://twitter.com/bankofcanada/status/1655603693264203777?t=pwUEVZiE_0penkIa11OBLQ&s=19
There's inherent bias in the questions, which may skew how people percieve other options like Bitcoin:

Also, the answers seem to imply they intend to impose limits for how much $ Canadians can hold or receive - they should be asking instead whether we should treat digital dollars like cash if they intend to replace cash

The consultation is overall childish, I hope there's an opportunity for more nuanced feedback on something this important! Thatvsaid, I'm glad there are some spots for more feedback - here's mine on if I think Canada can keep a secure CBDC

Also, lol,

"Winners & lovers" π€¦πΌββοΈ great job on the Bank of Canada consultation feedback mags

So it begins, my fellow Canadians.

Yes, a reg/policy framework that is broadly supportive is key - includes education & other related sectors (like energy)
El Salvador welcomes the Bitcoin industry: devs, hardware manufacturers, app makers, data services, consultants, & more!

You know inflation hits hard when all the ladies romance novels are about billionaires (vs millionaires) now π€£π€£
Lol, a few of us just had a long Twitter fight about mining & Africa with a climate/ESG person. They refused to do acknoweldge any positive projects (facts) & engaged in name-calling & the same opinion that its bad. We get it, they will too eventually π€·ββοΈ
It's the surrounding macroeconomic environment that's causing a shift I'm feeling
The future belongs to trail blazers like El Salvador & Bhutan, who are building strong foundations through action, clear regulations, & investments
And not to governments that are trying to ban Bitcoin, mining, or create regulatory burdens & misaligment on policy goals

I'm starting to feel like the suddenly phase is accelerating (of "gradually, then suddenly")
Between bank failures, move away from US settlement, countries getting into Bitcoin & mining... I feel a shift
