Today is a big day for my family. We live in Ohio, and, after 10 years of heating our home with wood, we bought a propane furnace. The furnace and ductwork are scheduled to be installed today & Friday.
I will miss the wood stove, but the propane furnace will tend itself, and I won’t have to stack and carry wood anymore. Propane is much less dirty than wood heat

Same! The days are (thankfully) getting warmer, and that has been making it easier to get outside to do yard work.
Our ducks started laying eggs again, so that means they’ll be paying their food & other expenses.

My ducks finally started laying eggs again last week! They stopped laying in the beginning of January, and halfway thru March they started again. I ate the first two eggs of 2025 for breakfast the other day, but these eggs (2 dozen) will be sold/delivered tomorrow.

Hello form Frosty Ohio! What have you been doing today? I got up at 6:30 this morning and fed the dragon in my basement (my wood stove) then made a pot of coffee & my breakfast. After eating breakfast I emptied the dishwasher and refilled it. Then after several more checks to refill the wood stove and heat the house. Now the family is awake, and I’m going to (you guessed it!) refill the wood stove and look for lunch.

I have thought about looking into buying a small BTC mining rig on e-Bay to run on my small (600w) solar array through the summer/fall. I’m in northern Ohio. I tried mining early in the BTC years, and never had any appreciable success. Thoughts?
