That's the thing, though. The incentives for toxic content are still present. The reason that's what emerged on other platforms, is that people respond to it. My concern is that zaps will start accruing to the same toxic echo chamber content once we have a broader sample of people on here.

There may be a broad array of views present on nostr currently, but we're generally united by a very fringe commitment to this magic internet money. That creates an atmosphere of good faith amongst us, for now.

I wish I could agree. I think a highly selected group of humans can have those traits. However, as we approach a more representative sample, I think we'll see more typical internet behavior.

We had some family visit recently and I was shocked at how obsessed they still were with him. These were people who were either non-political or fairly moderate before Trump.

That's being too generous. An illiterate reaches no conclusions from what's written. The American public reliably reaches the wrong conclusions about economics (and most other things).

I remember a study from about 20 years ago that found panhandlers earned about $10 an hour.

As Thomas Sowell said, "People will forgive you for being wrong, but they'll never forgive you for being right when they were wrong."

I just made the switch to Primal and I'm really enjoying actually getting my notifications now.

I worry that you're correct. For example, Minds is another censorship resistant social network, but there's almost no cordiality there between left and right.
