Amongst many takeaways, my favourite/most horrific was this. A nuclear powered, nuclear armed submarine, be they British or American, can't be detected. They each, also, that's one single fucking submarine, contain TWICE the firepower of ALL the bombs dropped during the WHOLE of WWII, that's including the 2 nuclear bombs that were dropped. The fire power on them fucking things is simply unimaginable🤯😳.

oh, and it looks like they kill each other over politics just like everyone else. you can say it's about freedom, but if you're killing someone because you disagree with thier politics, that makes you a sociopath.

The importance of proof of work in life.

The other day at a family meal a recent nutrition graduate (fiat education) was discussing my diet.

He was showing me his studies and I was showing him mine, evidently discrediting mine because I am not a nutritionist.

My closing argument was, I am more than twice as old as you, I have twice as much muscle mass as you, I can do 100 pull-ups, I can run for two hours straight, I can beat you at sprint at any distance, I have no cholesterol, no triglycerides, no sugar, my blood work is perfect.

If at my age you get to be like me, then I will believe your studies.

Studying is all very well, but what they teach at the university does not have to be the truth.

As a curiosity, his postulates were:

- Fasting is bad.

- Protein is bad.

- Carbohydrates are good.

- Fats and meat increase cholesterol.

My diet is based on:

- Fasting.

- Protein (fish, meat)

- Practically no carbohydrates

When I have increased the consumption of carbohydrates (I also do endurance sports) I have ended up with triglycerides sky high and with slightly high cholesterol.

My liver is perfect.

FIAT culture is garbage, boy things have to be proven, POW.

That's OK for people like us, I've got 6 bug out locations and a couple of shitty tents too. Most other people are only thinking a few weeks ahead, at best. I'd just like to be able to support those in the community.

A local family are about to become homeless. My daughter is friends with one of theirs, they are part of the local community, but they can't find a rental.

My wife, who's still on fb, showed me a post in which they were begging for a rental, as theirs is not being extended and they just can't find another place. There just aren't enough available properties anywhere. I'd like to offer part of our house, bedroom, bathroom and lounge, that are separate, to them. But, it's not enough space for four, they'd say no and my wife would say hell no.

My wife and I bought our house only months before the real sky-rocketing house prices here in Australia and we're grateful for that. A year later and we would be in the same situation, renting, being evicted, searching unsuccessfully, homeles, maybe.

It really feels like everything is now really tangibly falling apart, I hear these stories every day now, crime is going up, buying power is going down. I'm an optimist, by force of will, but I can see hard times coming. Prepare yourselves, no one is coming to save any of us, but our friends.

Why become a health worker, when the hospitals are going bankrupt?

Why work at a pool, when they are closing the pools?

Why become a teacher, when nobody is having kids?

Why become a programmer when code will be generated?

Why work in a restaurant, when everything will be a self-serve kiosk?

Why become a truck driver when the trucks drive themselves?

Why become an anything, when everyone is growing broke and old? Who will you sell anything to? Who will you work for?

They don't understand that this doesn't work with software, like it does with hardware, because everyone has exactly the same item. 😂

Just downloaded 0xchat and checking it out- it looks smooth AF and I like what I'm looking at but wondering, what's the use case? I can DM people via Amethyst already, my normal contacts are all over on WhatsApp and if I want direct private comms it seems everyone here recommends simplex these days. Is there something I've not spotted or figured out yet?

People dying is priced in, I'm afraid.

Every software buyer knows this is likely, but they don't really care, because they assume that it'll only kill Other People.

It's the same with the software in cars, banking systems, or production lines. Nobody wants to pay or wait, to have it properly designed and tested. They only ever want the beta, even at the risk of it driving them into a tree at 250 km/h.
