[ENG/GER] NOT a bitcoiner/stacker/maxi. I am here to have a damn good time! Rabbithole conniseur; I enjoy random stuff. :D Ex-Furry, (close to) blind, hobby developer/sysadmin, waifu enjoyer, long hair fetish (#hairjob). I sometimes talk about NSFW stuff; because fucking is fun =) (DMs always open.)

My collegues - at least a few of them - might believe that...

There are, literally, in the IT landscape, that actually don't know better as they were raised on proprietary bullshit start to finish. Hell, even I have an ECDL cert. Does nothing, just proves that I can work with some closed sourced things but apparently it makes some bosses happy o.o'

It's up to us to help those poor souls see the bigger picture. Gently.

I love how all over the place this is.

Wish there was a tool that would tell me things like my most active time, most interactions and the longest streak of "dead days". Would be interesting to see my life on nostr, charted. x)

I hate math (because I suck at it) but this'd still be neat. ^^

One of the random thoughts that popped into my mind during a smoke break - aka. it survived five minutes in my mind - was: What would it do if there were a bunch of relayers deploayed all over the place that just listen on N relays and broadcast each note they see to N-$current relays?

Aside from a a crapton of traffic of connecting to some100 relays and constantly broadcasting events, I wonder if this would even "do" anything. o.o

Is there a particular reason #snort is no longer showing nip05 nor pubkeys in profile views? o.o

Interesting. This is giving me quite food for thought as to how this could be improved - but it also shows that nostr.band certainly does what it was ment to do (as far as I understand).

I wonder what would happen if nostr.band were to go under for whatever reason (spontaneous implosion of the infra or something) - how much of the nostr apps out there would outright break?

I actually remember when this song came out - or rather, this compilation. That was in 2005, among one of my most favorite years. Listening back to it nearly 20 years later truely feels nostalgic; I listened to it on a DiscMan with MP3 capabilities. Beat is still killer ^^

Good memories. Kinda miss this particular style of german rap - but hey, I know what to look for and where to find it; which is... in my Music folder. ^^

My collegues reached a new level of "How tf did this happen?"

Imagine your biggest customer asking you to provision them ten laptops, and you have a timeframe of two months to set up WDS/MDT or an alternative to speedrun deployments across all those devices. (Using a golden image is not feasible as a lot of entities are dynamically genned like VPN profiles, user/pass combos, etc.)

Well. Now imagine just dicking around for almost the entire time, getting nowhere, and when the deadline arrives, remember that there was one, and then pwn it off to an apprentice.

I... I just can't. Yknow when the deadline is? TOMORROW! I will be spending the ENTIRE DAY speedrunning WDS and MDT, learning all the PowerShell I can AND deploying all the 10ish laptops - all in a single day.

Im about to be one fucking toasted dude. I just can't, man. How the hell do you bum it so hard... This is genuinely impressive, for all the wrong reasons.

Somewhere in r/codinghumor - but it shoulda been in r/ihadastroke...

Now that's a mighty statline. I'll have my 1st anniv here in a few months. ^^

Pissed linux users are fun. ^^

That said, hopefully none of yall nostriches ran into this!

I wish there'd be something like uci/nix - but general purpose. OpenWrt's uci is an amazing config abstraction ontop of a rather generic Linux, whilst Nix can generate a whole OS, effectively. I wish there was something like that but ontop of alpine. That'd be so neat... Like, specify packages, specify abstracted configs and just import the lot. Would definitively make things easier. Might work on that some day, to a degree. There is libconfuse which is very close to UCIs syntax - and combining that with /etc/apk/world should do ... to a degree.

I still do, on occasions, because some people just aren't here, let alone support channels, startups and the like.

So there definitively is merit in posting elsewhere too, at times.

Classmate brought a 2U server from work for his presentation. 100% Baller move. Has me wonder if I should buy a 2U chasis and build a RISC-V server into it to then showcase it some other time in class? xD Sadly, I lack the apartment space for a server rack... I do plan to build one in a new flat though. a nice 1-2U box for a NAS and stuff... some shelf-space for my SBCs... ahh, that'd be genuely amazing <3

Re-discovered RevealJS for a presentation. Used it many years ago and might need it again, because my PowerPoint-fu is ... bad. XD Welp, time to dockerize a slide deck or something. o.o This'll certainly be fun, lol...

- Installing a firewall update without checking the changelog.

- yoloing a mysql update from 5.x to "8 dot something" without making sure its compatible with the connecting software

- smashing together a windows install and throwing arms up, claiming logs had never been written and no research done either.

I _am_ underpaid. I _am_ frustrated. I _am_ impressed this corp is still alive. Every, day, anew.

Started talking to some ppl in a few Alpine IRC channels. They certainly did not expect a random dude to just swing by like, "amma build dis whole thing, gib docs!" XD

The reason there is no 3.19 Alpine release? No build hardware. Aight, I only got 4 cores, that run 24/7, so let's go! :D Gotta start somewhere. Aint gonna be a 2nd step if nobody does a 1st. o.o

In other terms: There aint a blockchain with a 0th block.
