I successfuly rebuilt my friends' network. He took a powernap after work and I went and did my deeds - almost locking him into his bedroom by accident while moving furniture to reach sockets and sneak some excess cables behind a shelf. It was quite fun! And everything works as expected now. Not the fanciest of jobs, but he is also visually impaired, so neither of us really cares if there's an ethernet cable, in white, dangling infront of a white wall. XD
Now I am just waiting for my parents to pick me up and drive me home. way too early but... apparently, old people do that o-o (they're 59 and 60 respectively).
Bought all the hardware and couplers I needed to finish my friends' network do-over. Now I just have to wait for his work time to end so I can start ripping things out and plugging the new stuff in

Fun fact: Unless you explicitly enable it in the config, strfry hardly logs anything. I sometimes do for debugging but then turn it off once I am done and wipe the logs. Dunno about other relays, I am quite satisfied with strfry which is why I "main" it.
CloudFlare Tunnels (cloudflared) or Tor are always options to exposing a relay. i2pd too, but the network is kinda... all over the place. Needs more nodes I fear. Still, doing Nostr hosting is ridiculously easy. Everyone can be a "Nostr Service Provider".
