The poor man’s transfer switch… I’ve used a few of Reliance Controls products… this is a great cheap option if your not ready to drop $400-$600 on a transfer switch.

A cheap prep for spring summer storm season. Lantern holders, with tea-light holders. Don’t get left in the dark…

I installed one in every room plus hallways, the candles are cheap, burn out in 2 hours and contain the flame an important feature in a house with 11 growing small people.

I would like to learn how to properly process a chicken. I have 3 hens that will soon be ready for process. Anyone in the Houston area willing to teach? There is a farm that does process for you but you need a minimum of 20 birds.

I will do that too if anyone else want to go that route.

I'm putting in a garden bed and got tired of sifting the soil by hand so now I'm making a trommel from 55 gallon drums.

I've never welded before in my life. Wish me luck.

10 wicking beds to fill and trying to make do with what we can glean from our existing garden. I have 2 big bags of perlite and a friend we can go get a free load of rabbit droppings from. We also have compost from our bins and a good pile of leaves from the fall.

We plan to put a pond in the middle of the garden @Jackspirko Miyagi-style; so we can dig out some top soil from that area as well.

We’ve had wood chip paths in place for a couple of years. The soil under there is awesome. I fashioned a screen out of hardware cloth and a scrap piece of IBC tote frame. Going to sift out some good soil for the beds… then it started raining so coffee break!
