In Nostr DM, many people use a public note to confirm whether a message was received — which can be quite annoying.
In 0xchat v1.5.0, we’ve added NIP-17 DM send status, allowing you to see whether your message has been successfully delivered to the recipient’s DM relay. In the future, we may also add NIP-17 DM receive(seen) status support.
You can now long-press a message and select “Info” to open the Message Info page:

In the new 0xchat v1.5.0, Tor is built-in using rust-arti and works across platforms.
You can now go to **Me → Privacy and Security** to choose whether to enable the Tor network:
1. When disabled (default): connections to `.onion` addresses will automatically use the Tor network.
2. When enabled: all network requests will be routed through the Tor network.

#0xchat v1.5.0.95 released, this update fixes several issues:
- Fixed an issue where the Me tab would not display properly.
- Fixed a flickering issue during Amber login.
- Fixed several potential issues that could affect UI performance.

Please use this temporary workaround for now — it will be fixed in the next version.
No, not yet — it only records the relay send status locally.
The “Me” tab is missing? Could you take a screenshot so I can see what’s going on?
#0xchat v1.5.0 is out — now available on TestFlight and @zapstore !

1. You can set npub.cash as your Lightning address with one tap in 0xchat.
2. If your npub.cash has any sats, you’ll automatically be prompted to claim them to your 0xchat wallet.
We are using the Megalith LSP

0xchat is based on NIP-17 and NIP-29. It’s feature-rich, with support for voice/video calls, Moments (notes), and a built-in eCash wallet.
XChat, on the other hand, is based on NIP-EE (nostr mls) and is designed to be simpler.
The reason we split them into two apps is because they target different user groups. 0xchat private chats lean more toward open — anyone can message you, and conversations can stay synced across multiple devices and clients.
XChat leans more toward private/closed — only people with an invite link can chat with you, and message sync across devices/clients is more difficult.
For native apps, it’s recommended to use a native signer for a better user experience — for example, Amber. There are also other signer apps like Aegis and Nowser.
For browser apps, you can just use a NIP-07 extension for login.
Thanks Joe for bringing this up. At this stage we’d prefer to stick with XChat, but will definitely keep your point in mind going forward
Good point! XChat is set up with one relay per circle, but you can switch between circles (relays).
XChat is more focused on small, private groups, while White Noise seems to aim for larger crowds. That’s why XChat tries to use a single relay and keeps key packages away from the relay — we only share them via QR codes
I’ve run into this too, but it doesn’t happen every time, need to check the cause.
It's supposed to be. Once White Noise releases a stable version, compatibility testing will be conducted.
And GM - forgot to say earlier 🙂
0xchat uses NIP-17 and NIP-29, while XChat uses NIP-EE (Nostr MLS).
#XChat v0.2.3 release
