i wrote a reverse proxy that you can run on a cheap VPS that with a domain name with the wildcard configured on the DNS service configuration, combined with a wireguard connection, allows you to expose your home relay to the internet:

my relay is now working very nicely, has an automated access control that allows everyone in your follow list to read and write from the relay, you only need to put your npub hex into the configuration and publish your follow list to it and voila
still need to do a lot more work on all of these things but i think that people would pay for being able to run a relay on their computer that everyone in their friends list can automatically use (just need to make the deployment a bit simpler so it automatically fetches the follow list by scouring the open relays)
i think i will try to focus on making everything needed to do this... even, maybe bake this reverse proxy into the relay so you literally just DM the relay bot, set your subdomain username, and zap it and it sets up a wireguard client and on the client side the relay lets you drop that wireguard client config in and the relay automatically connects up to it and listens for stuff
a lot to do but i know all the pieces required, it's just some time to make it happen

I probably won’t be running my own relay(s) until 4 or 5 my close family and friends join onto the nostr network by their own accord. At that point I would setup a relay at my home and ask them if I could setup relays at their homes… to make sure our communications are solid amongst ourselves. Then I would need to be able to easily filter out a lot of traffic to keep my upload under the ISP cap.
The prisons are already almost full so hence the need to imprison the masses at home… or at minimum the illusion of that ability.

At an appointment today the two very friendly receptionist gals told me I had a great voice, and said I should do ASMR or voiceovers.
I told them I have a podcast.
They asked what it was about.
I said “Bitcoin.”
Receptionist 1: “oh no, that’s too boring.”
Me: “I think it’s important to talk about how the government steals from us through inflation, and how Bitcoin is a solution for individuals to escape that.”
Receptionist 2: “Isn’t that done? Like not around anymore? Didn’t it go down?”
Me: “No, it’s still very much around.”
Receptionist 2: “have you heard of [shitcoin]?”
Me: “yes, but I focus on Bitcoin because it’s the only thing not centrally controlled.”
Receptionist 2: “so you can just buy bitcoin, or how do you get it?”
Me: “yeah it’s easy, you buy it just like you would a stock.”
Receptionist 1: “you can buy it on CashApp.”
Me: “you seem to know about Bitcoin?”
Receptionist 1: “my fiancé has Bitcoin and [shitcoin].”
Me: “I’m not into [shitcoin], but glad he’s into Bitcoin.”

I was thinking the whole time… why are you posting this in public… this is for sure ending in a threesome.
So I watched the HBO bitcoin documentary. They naively point to nostr:npub1ej493cmun8y9h3082spg5uvt63jgtewneve526g7e2urca2afrxqm3ndrm as satoshi because he pointed out a minor but valid technical point to one of satoshi’s posts early on in the history of bitcoin. They assume he must have been satoshi to understand bitcoin that well that quickly and that instead of editing his post as satoshi he accidentally logged in as himself and just finished the thought he started as satoshi in a new post.
Lame. Produced just isn’t used to what genuinely smart people are like.
That said, Peter gives a literally eye-wateringly beautiful troll performance. I’ve never been prouder to be satoshi after seeing his performance. In fact, I’m prouder to be satoshi than Adam, who clearly doesn’t want the title (and obviously couldn’t hold it as well as me because stylistically his code isn’t as shitty as mine).
All I got out of the documentary is that all the Blockstream and friends people are strange/weirdos. That’s how the documentary made them look. Thinking about it… all the Bitcoiners came access as weirdos in the documentary. So the doc was probably created to undermine the trust in Bitcoin.
