What have you done with 7? While I agree that in general being nice gets you further in life…Lopp deserved the trolling he received. He trolled maximalists ad nauseum. If you can't handle being told you are wrong, then shut your mouth. He not only opened his mouth, but encouraged the wrath.
In other words, he picked the fight, so I would feel no sympathy for him when people decide to defend. You were one of those defenders, and I appreciated it.
