Orange pill win today. Got my mom to up my parents DCA from $10 to $50 daily. They don’t have a huge retirement fund and are well past the age that they should, yet in her mind the thousands of dollars they have sitting in their savings account is still worth the same in dollar terms as it was 2 years ago and will continue to be, it’s a security blanket.
Forget the fact that everything costs 25%-50% more and her dollars are discounted in their purchasing power, she does still have the same amount of dollars. On top of that her DCA funds are up 40% from her cost basis!
It’s crazy how hard these concepts are too explain when they seem so easy to understand in my brain. This is the challenge of orange pilling I suppose.
