So according to a post on the platform, the Bluesky Social app is currently undergoing the review process. So expect a debut sometime today/tomorrow. I think that it’ll still be in public beta, as you need an invite code to signup. However, the app will be viewable.
Alright, so I have a “feed” thing imported. Basically it just grabs the most recent post from each cached user. I could do some sorting using ISO timestamps, but that could lead to a feed that changes post interpolation due to interlaced user activity. I’d say this system works fine though.
I am confident that I’ll be able to get it out sometime today. Just have to implement the user page flow and discussion flow.
I mean, tbh, there’s a whole segment of people who don’t even have an iPhone to test the app on. So atm, there’s justification in making this.

Currently working on the wrapper! Hopefully, if all goes well, I can get it out tmr. There’s a lot of api methods I need to implement and whatnot.
So Bluesky Social has over 1 million signups. Because of that, I have some serious doubts on whether it will be released anytime soon. For that reason, I will continue with my objective to get a post client working. Won’t be anything complex, just enough to show user info and posts/replies a user has made.
One can only hope.. that Bluesky Social will come out this week…

Ok, so I just checked and it looks like there’s a small chance the Bluesky Social app will get on the app store by the end of the week. 🤞 So I’ll hold out on doing an api wrapper for the time being.
So, I did some work today doing a massive API log of (most of) the accounts on Bluesky Social. Atm, the list includes 300 accounts, which will likely get much larger soon. Because I'm not so sure when the team will open it up to another batch of people, I've been considering making a very basic client that wraps all the posts of these users into a feed-like thing. The development of this will be more so for the people who don't have access (like me), and are just curious on what happens on there from the day-to-day. Unfortunately, images cannot be retrieved, as they require user authentication to do so. I believe the same goes for polls, but I've not looked into it. However, I'd say a majority of the posts on the platform can still be viewed. It is disappointing that I wasn't able to get any images. Might've been able to share a few screenshots people took of the app. 👀 On the topic of just plain posts and user accounts though, it's quite easy to extract them from the API. Just opening that up for discussion in case any are interested on what goes on in there.
Back to shitposting. What do you when the driver and the passenger are arguing? Do you try to calm things down, or let them hash it out? Please just stop I don’t want to get in a wreck and die.
