That’s how the displays used to look in the Wild West.

When I receive sats to my npub.cash-wallet I no longer receive DMs from nostr:npub1s4m06xdlu6fuhfhs4m3nhpp8xdpsdprwccdktckkzusfu8qzzprqnfpz6a telling me that someone zapped me. Anyone who has an idea what that’s about? #asknostr

It’s interesting that #nostr had a big draw (and maybe it still do) because X (and other social media platforms) was seen as flawed (and very much centralized), and now when, presumably left leaning, people leave X because a single person (with close ties to the government) is running the place #nostr users seem to think they are stupid for it.

I like edits or at least the theory behind them. I make typos. I want to fix the typos. However, nostr:nprofile1qqsrhuxx8l9ex335q7he0f09aej04zpazpl0ne2cgukyawd24mayt8gprfmhxue69uhhq7tjv9kkjepwve5kzar2v9nzucm0d5hszxmhwden5te0wfjkccte9emk2um5v4exucn5vvhxxmmd9uq3xamnwvaz7tmhda6zuat50phjummwv5hsx7c9z9 has convinced me that they're bad. His editing and the gamification of his edits are fun, but if hundreds of people in my feeds are doing this, then it would immediately degrade my experience. I would hate it. It would be annoying.

I now see edits as an attack vector and a performance degrader.

Maybe we need a maximum number of edits? 3? I don't know. I'm just thinking out loud.

Maybe we just do away with them altogether? 👀

Thoughts?

My suggestion would be the ability to set a delay timer between hitting the post-button and the note being published. But never allow edits or deletions.

I like that you can’t delete notes. We have to accept our mistakes and correct for them instead of hiding them. However, it would be nice if we could apply a delay between hitting ”Post” and a note actually being posted. Much like my 2 minutes delay rule on Outlook. #nostr
