Have you ever followed emergency and public service alerts on twitter? You just choose what services you your self are interested in subscribing to and get those tweets. You can set it to notify you so it shows up in your notification tab and you get a push notification. But what ones you get are entirely based on who you choose to follow.

What do folks think about getting emergency alerts and public service alerts on to nostr. All the public service alerts on twitter started as people just setting up their own bots and running them. Twitter’s been demanding that public agencies pay thousands or tens of thousands of dollars a month and most are dropping twitter in response.

There’s no way to do bots on bluesky’s at_protocol, because it’s still got closed membership and has no open protocol yet. But we could easily do it on Nostr!

There’s been a bunch of bluesky hype lately, which is cool because I’d rather them then closed twitter clones like T2, tribel, post.news, cohost, counter social, wt.social, substack notes, etc….

Most of these services run RSS feeds and have other open API’s for publishing, so it’s just a matter of creating bots, accounts, giving them profiles, maybe a page / directory of them…. We can do this quickly.

Don't be fooled by FOMO 😢

Absolutely all crypto players are familiar with this feeling. FOMO, Fear Of Missing Out, is the fear of missing something, the syndrome of missed profits.

↪️ This syndrome is exacerbated in traders when they see someone in another chat room "congratulating them on profits" on some trade that they missed. Scam channels often manipulate naive hamsters who catch FOMO - just write that "whales are buying X coin, soon it will be bought up, only Y tokens left"🤦.

❗️Not many people understand that when FOMO appears, you just need to put away your phone or laptop and forget about crypto for at least a couple of hours.

Moreover, you can't buy a coin that has already flown into space - since you couldn't buy the bottom and get on board before it takes off, you shouldn't go there either.

➡️ How do you combat the fear of missing out on a profit?

All it takes is this:

• Don't succumb to everyone's panic or joy.

• Set clear, reasonable goals: how long I will keep this asset, when I will sell it, etc.

• Stick to my own strategy whatever the outcome.

Can’t sleep cause I need to wake up early tomorrow

Do you know how a stack works from a systems perspective? You all could be dropping Twitter to their knees, with the right system stack. Internally you all use a linklist but end nodes and network nodes use a time chain. New transactions or applications gen'd to the system, IMS, DB2, etc. using a preferable language?? I installed python on a z/os 2.2 test system years back. But the jcl couldn't be automated to run py executables with and RACF id hard coded. That was py 2.7 so maybe a newer version exists?
