A redeemed ๐Ÿ™ and insatiably curious woman on the home front ๐Ÿก Author and clinical herbalist in the PNW ๐ŸŒฒ

I finally got a good look at my van that was recovered (it had been stolen). I really want to knock the thieves heads together, shaming their mamas and all. They even used my ice chains to rip out the seat for whatever reason. They abandoned it stuck deep into mud on the side of the road.

Insurance is supposed to pay for it but it's still 500 bucks out of my own pocket for the deductible. $500 for their joy ride that I could have used in so many places. At least the kids' car seats were still there and the van tested clean of drugs (I insisted on testing).

And.

I learned when I got home from TX that the drive shaft on my pickup literally fell off onto the ground ๐Ÿ˜ซ Another 200 bucks, at least.

There's nothing I can do about any of that. So I transplanted my tomatoes into their little red greenhouses, planted potatoes, and enjoyed the massive apple blossoms outside.

I refuse to let morons or other crap that happens rob my joy.

It came out really good! Wheels to pop on and off so it's easily moved with a handcart. The terrain in TX is quite a bit different than in the PNW ๐Ÿ˜Š

Had a great time in Texas visiting. Y'all (wink wink) have the most interesting plants and birds (furry plantain! Cardinals!). My husband built a chicken tractor for my daughter's family. You'll see in the pics my great roll in that ๐Ÿ˜‚

Look up the Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013) too! Just saw that one, I thought it was funny and well done.

I really hope those kinds of restaurants become more commonplace. I believe they were originally meant as RESTOREants, to refresh weary travelers with nourishment. They've become thieves, stealing health and wealth from their patrons.

Found a great farm-to-table place. Everything is of course yummy! Do you search "farm to table restaurants" when you're out and about?

Wow thank you all for the amazing sats on my last post โค๏ธ

Yesterday I chopped up plantain to top our lunch with: local orca beans, parsnip, beet, onion, celery in a chicken broth stew, served with fresh baked sourdough bread. Toppings of choice for the stew: kraut, mustard, or olive oil. A simple lunch, but a satisfying one.

Take a walk with me?

In other news, purple sprouted broccoli is almost $4 at the supermarket. It's one of my favorites so I bought a bunch (not to share), but it is definitely going back into my garden. As much as I hate starting a garden from scratch (AGAIN), I'm looking forward to, God help me, incredible harvests.

Aw thank you โค๏ธ

Home from church today with one of my sick babies. I do hate to miss the communion and sermon and gathering and fellowship. Anyhow. Doing a little art journaling and thought I'd share some pages for other art journalers out there (where are you?!) I've gotten into doing faces so I expect a whole lot more of them will show up and introduce themselves to me. Happy Sunday to you all ๐Ÿ™
