I wonder if it would be useful and/or practical to have a telegram bridge to nostr. My hope is that telegram users interact with content from nostr and eventually switch to a nostr client without even having to understand why it's better.
Users who are concerned about more sophisticated attacks could also benefit from adding context to their social graph so that the context can be factored in to their WoT calculation
Indeed, this is a tricky problem... Perhaps we will need to accept a combination of multiple approaches with their trade-offs.

Nostr web services (NWS) could also be useful as an overlay network. I've heard lots of good things about the mesh ISPs in Barcelona.

We need TollGates in our couters, in our cellphone towers, in our internet exchange points and in our satellites.
If your infrastructure doesn't have a TollGate it will starve with the money printer.

This is a great example of the kind of self sovereign infrastructure that individuals can buy for themselves.
Bring Bitcoin + free markets into the picture and people can get fast internet connections over modern/digital comms equipment. Switched networks are less self sovereign, but free markets are a force to be reckoned with...
If you have a contract with an ISP, you sell your neighbor access to your internet connection. Your neighbor can resell this access to his neighbor who is too far to access your WiFi directly. Now three neighbors are sharing the cost of one internet connection.
If your fiat internet contract stops because the ISP has issues or they don't like you, you can start using a neighbors connection instead.
They have to block everyone if they want to block you. Blocking everyone is much costlier and much harder. Together you guys have the purchasing power to build your own infrastructure
