People that say “nobody is using bitcoin” as a reason for why they’re building on other chains are missing the forest for the trees.

The only reason IMO these other chains have more users is because they’re just digital casinos. Of course more people are going to throw in $300 to doge to try and get rich than go down the bitcoin rabbit hole and study economics and cryptography.

Over time, people are going to wake up. Individuals and companies that resisted the pull to easy money and stayed focused on #bitcoin will be positioned to reap the rewards once people start to actually understand what’s going on here.

Yelling and pointing them out is only partially effective because it's not possible to warn (or even convince) the whole world.

Ostracizing has the same issue - there are always more fools in the sea for scammers to harvest.

Civil lawsuits are similarly flawed because the successful scammer will be better funded than the victims.

Seems like an opportunity for a̶s̶s̶a̶s̶s̶i̶n̶a̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ prediction markets...

You can't say BullBitcoin has no KYC. There is a difference between being able to lie about your info and no KYC. BullBitcoin asks for a name and email - this is 100% KYC. It doesn't matter if you can create a burner email or use a fake name. They ask for KYC!

Forgive my ignorance, didn't have time to search around: how do Amethyst lives work? Do they use nostr to identify a server that the client connects to? Or does it employ a centralized Amethyst server?

I built a little script that identifies public relays who don't have rate limiters on.
