In terms of privacy itβs like when you go to the atm to withdraw cash, the bank can see how much cash you withdrew (in this case lighting) but not where you are spending the cash (your cashu mint tokens). Should you need to put cash (mint tokens) back into your account, you can deposit cash back to your account via the atm (withdraw tokens to lightning and send out to lightning wallet).
So cashu has great privacy benefits even over and above lightning and is ideal for a community P2P system. I love it
I like the circus or fair analogy. The person in the booth giving out ride tokens has blacked out glass, so they can't see who is exchanging cash for tokens.
Deposit sats, get tokens. No one knows who owns what tokens, but they can be redeemed for sats at any point.
Imagine Cashu like a privacy service for Paypal. You send me some of your Paypal $ to my Paypal Account and you trust me that I won't steal them from you. Great, I like you, too!
After that you can spend those Paypal $ on any online shop that accepts Paypal. The clue: they won't know that it was you who paid. IIRC: Even I won't know.
And: my Paypal Account is not completely private but it has better privacy than any real Paypal account (LN issues...)

What principle exactly? I see Bitcoin and Monero as tools that can be used to enhance human freedom. I also believe *everything* will approach zero compared to Bitcoin, but I don't know what that timeline is and Monero is useful right now.
