š”š In Plato's cave, people perceive shadows as reality, until they step into the sunlight and discover the truth.
Similarly, #Bitcoin shines a light on the flaws of traditional finance, revealing the potential for a more transparent and equitable system.
Just as stepping out of the cave brings enlightenment, embracing Bitcoin brings financial freedom, decentralization, and a chance to redefine the rules of the game.
The food we are told to eat as Americans is poison for our bodies. The numbers of changing that tell the full story.
After #[1]ā inspired me to get my shit together and get healthier on April 7th 2023, I started the following:
1.) Adopted a paleo/carnivore-style diet (50% Protein, 45% fat, 5% carbs as a % of total calories) Mainly red meat, chicken, pork, and fish.
2.) Total body weight lifting routine every single day (Upper/lower split every other day) for 30-60 min tops. 2 x 20 min walks a day. Averaging about 7k steps a day, trying to get this to 10k).
3.) Started intermittent fasting. Last meal of the day 5pm. First meal of the day 11am-12pm. Always started my workout after fasting 16 hours min. Trying to remain in Ketosis and resting periodically with PerfectKeto strips.
Results:
1.) Weight down 15+lbs from 187 to 171 in less than 2 months.
2.) Dropped over 5% body fat.
3.) Resting heart rate consistently below 60. (mid 50s now from high 60s)
4.) ALT levels dropped by over 15%.
Take the time to care for yourself. It can be easy to get caught up with work and think you have no time.
Like #[2]ā said, āyou can change it if you want toā. No amount of money in the world is worth more than your health. What do you want more?
Thanks for the feedback. Promises for delivery, payment, or something else?
Extremely difficult to put on muscle quickly but extremely easy to lose muscle quickly if you stop for a brief period of time!
Hey #[1]ā - Are you still mining with compass by chance?
If not, does anyone have any recommendations for a good place to get started? Has anyone down the calculation to determine what cost for the miner and hosting does it make or not make sense to mine? Thanks!
Pretty cool to see Passport up there, and took the time to improve their contribution docs while I was at it š

Can't get enough of FOSS and what it brings, such a beautiful thing and the best way to run a site like theirs for sure.
Good stuff! Iād love to try a Passport device.
If you had to show 1 video on YouTube to someone explaining what Bitcoin is and why itās important, which video would you send and what specifically stood out to you about that? Let me know!

Almost forgot! The icing on the cake is connecting this setup to your own Bitcoin node on Umbrel, and verifying transactions using Mempool.
BlueWallet and ColdCard seem to go together like Peanut butter and jelly, Kool-Aid and water, or even Ham and Cheese. Itās super simple to manage Multisig from your mobile device while having the security of cold storage. Has anyone else put together a better setup than these two tools, especially for a Multisig for a family-office or small business? Let me know!

Check out NetHopper.IO if youāre using K8. Itās a platform built on top of open source tools like ArgoCD, Skupper, HELM, & Prometheus giving you the ability to deploy K8 across any private/public cloud with a single dashboard.

I donāt even know where the light switches are in my house anymore since I always ask Alexa to turn them off and on. Now that I think of it, maybe Alexa had them removed from the walls? š¤·āāļø
Going back in time with my next 2 reads for April/May. Anyone read this before?

Can anyone help put me in touch with someone from Boston Bruins Foundation to process a payment for a happy birthday message to my son on the video scoreboard for this Mondayās game? I submitted the form but need to pay via CC before Monday! Thanks!
Time is the great equalizer and it is all we really have.
Iāve hired professional videographers in the past to create client testimonials for my last business. The cost varied between $2,500-$5k/interview. It could prob be done with a lot less from someone who is just getting started. I would think a short documentary could get the message across with 10-15 interviews (a few who are homeless, a few real estate investors, 1 macro pro, an organization that helps homeless people (Iām thinking someone like CodeOfVets.com) and obviously some Bitcoin names.
Ideally someone who is charismatic, well-spoken and educated in the space like #[3]ā or #[4]ā would be the main interviewer.
Iād pony up a good amount of sats for this project to raise awareness if there is community interest.
The only way to end homelessness is to make homes affordable again and we canāt do that as long as our money is broken.
Bitcoin can fix this problem.
Wealthy people buy homes to store their wealth because the US dollar does not work anymore as a proper store of value.
There are 11 million year-around vacant homes and 582,000 homeless people in US or 19 empty homes for every homeless person.
Housing is now acting as money and its price goes up because it not only represents the value of providing shelter but it also represents the value of storing your wealth.
This is called the monetary premium and it makes homes more expensive.
As a builder, what would you rather build, an affordable homes that is priced purely for shelter; or a luxury home that is priced with a monetary premium and attracts those looking for a new way to park their savings?
Homes shouldnāt be a store of value.
Homes are shelters but as long as the official money is broken, the housing market will continue to go up, making itself less and less affordable for anyone but the 1%.
The solution is to go back to sound money. Money that works as a store of value.
That is why Bitcoin is so important.
It is the only sound money available today and only when we embrace Bitcoin we will eliminate the monetary premium on housing, making them affordable again.

Wow. What a great take and I completely agree. I was literally just driving my wife to her doctor appointment in downtown Boston and there are homeless people all around the surrounding area. I was thinking to myself how we got here, and how broken the money system is. I was even thinking of paying a team to create a documentary on this exact issue to raise awareness.
When someone says āIām too busyā it just means that what they are asked to do is not a priority to them. There are 168 hours in a week.
- 8 hours a day sleeping = 112 hours / week.
- 8 hours a day working = 56 hours per week.
- 1 hour a day doing housework (cooking, cleaning etc) = 49 hours per week
- 2 hours per day for sports (if you have kids) 35 hours per week.
Make it a priority. When you track where you are spending your time on useless activities, you can make time for things that are important.
One exercise I do with my kids is enable the screen time feature on their iPhone and console gaming systems. I show them objectively how much time they are spending on these activities, and ask them if they spent event 15 min of that time practicing their sport (hockey / baseball / training) how much they think they would improve at their favorite activity.
