I want to explain this to reduce confusion, not increase it, so here it goes.

The cashu tokens you have can still be moved, traded, divided & combined on the STPI mint as long as the tokens stay on the mint. Because I'm closing down the lightning node, you won't be able to redeem them for sats via lightning... for now. However, I can reimburse you for them.

Here's another aspect; If you leave your sats on the mint, and I set up a new lightning node, open new channels, and connect it to the cashu mint, then you WILL be able to redeem your cashu tokens as if nothing happened. Just so you understand, I'm only shutting down the LND node, not lnbits. When I finally disconnect LND, i'll change over to the 'null node' in lnbits. When I connect a new lightning node, i'll connect lnbits to that new node, and you can redeem your tokens at that time.

I wanted to give everyone a chance to redeem their tokens before I disconnect the lightning node. At this time, it appears the node is essentially unroutable. As a mitigation, if you send the tokens to me (via PM) I can be assured that you no longer control them. This way I can reimburse you with a different wallet like on getalby, strike, zeus or cashapp.

If there are people you sent sats to and they don't know who I am or even how cashu works, there will be a time where they can send them to other people but can't cash them in for sats over lightning. Eventually they will be able to redeem them.

Be assured, this isn't a rugpull. And in case you're wondering, at this time there is only about 30ksats remaining on it.

Forward!

This whole process of shutting down the node will take several days, possibly weeks. I have several channels with partners that are offline sometimes for weeks. The cashu mint will remain open. If you can't route a payment, simply send the #ecash tokens you have to me via IM and I will reimburse you.

You could also send a LN invoice to me via IM for the tokens if you don't have a lnaddress.

I intend to start out fresh with a properly connected node after i do more research. I'm finding running a LN node is not a part-time activity.

It was up and down for a while a few hours ago. I still have some channels open and they could route but no telling for sure. If you send the tokens to me via nostr private message along with your lnaddress i can send the sats to you through another provider

Notice to any users of the STPI cashu mint: I'm shutting it down for now.

There are too many remote-close and force-close on my lightning node, there is also erratic behavior like strange cashu/ln transactions and pending payments that I can't explain. Lightning is too unpredictable and impossible to debug, its not ready for prime-time in my opinion. I've been running this node for two years and the technology is not improving. This high fee environment is making it too costly to run a routing node, and the ln-tx fees don't even put a dent in the channel open and close fees.

Please remove your sats from the mint.

I will try to keep it open long enough for people to remove their sats (there isn't much).

No aerable soil. No fresh water. No trees for heat. No greenery for cattle. I think the one thing I would absolutely need is a boat.

That we Maxis henceforth be no more shitcoiners, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every pumping altcoin, by the sleight of grifters, their cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to dump their bags; But speaking the truth about Bitcoin in love, the shitcoiners may grow up into Bitcoin for all things, which is the best, even a single Satoshi: For this exists the whole blochchain fitly joined together and compacted by that which every vByte supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every miner, maketh increase of the world unto the edifying of the HODLer in love.

Ancap all day long. Rothbard can die but his ideas will live forever.

Either he has known all along and he's playing a game,

or he's really that ignorant of what's going on in crypto.

No matter, he's making grifter signals

Good day people. Anyone from Western Wisconsin?

I'm another Swan participant since Jan 2022. And yes, I found myself having to stress over the Prime Trust fiasco...and then the jump to Fortress Trust...and now another jump.

But Cory has been out there doing some decent forecasting of what other companies are doing and that they would rug-pull. And as much as we'd love it if everyone just stayed humble and stacked sats. His appearances on main stream channels, just like Natalie Brunell, is good for Bitcoin awareness. And we want people to know, right? Not just because of number go up but because it fights a corrupt system both domestically and abroad (from the Fed/Treasury/JP Morgans of the world to the IMF and authoritarian governments).

I disagree with him "owning" a bunch of bitcoin influencers. Have several teamed up with him over the years, yes. But these people already had successful careers/podcasts/etc without Cory. If anything, they pooled resources to develop better strategy for educating the masses. And Swan is VERY education focus and LEADS with the strong encouragement for self-custody...and willing to educate you on that. They will also educate you on how to setup a bitcoin full node.

That doesn't sound like someone looking to rug-pull. And yes, we all wish he would have led with being more turn-key and liimiting 3rd party risk. But in an accelerating innovation market, there has to be some delegation to people who SUPPOSEDLY do things "best in class"...like custodians.

I value your opinion and positions, nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx, but I also trust the opinions of Stephan Livera, James Lavish, Jeff Booth, Greg Foss, Sam Callahan, Alex Gladstein, Mark Moss, etc. People who may or may not be sponsored by Swan...but didn't need him beforehand and would still do fine enough that they can have independent opinions. Yet they've teamed or supported Swan.

That has to mean something.
