Is there a good guide for running a private nostr relay over clearnet ? Imagining running a pretty small one for a group of friends, would be private. Thanks!

I would recommend getting an android and start migrating. Use 2 phones for a while and try to reduce reliance for apple products. Until one day you can discard the apple device.

I can't grasp why the long term goal wouldn't be to exit apple devices. I'm not saying Google is better, but shouldn't the long term goal be to decentralize and move away from big tech control? When a corporation is openly hostile to individual choice and decentralized technology, why are people so bent on continuing to buy their products when there are alternatives?

What’s the lowest barrier way around Apple control on Apple devices? I don’t think the long term solution is exiting Apple devices and I don’t think there is the economic power to make a meaningful difference.

ie. We can switch to android, but it’s more work for us than it is a loss for Apple. (That said you should still get an android based for these cases and to experiment, I have a pixel 5 for this reason)

But I’m curious what everyone thinks the lowest hanging fruit is here? Want to collect a bunch of ideas. Is it just going 100% web apps? Is there another clever work around? Share thoughts 👇🏻👇🏻

Is anyone really surprised a company like Apple, which has an iron grip on its product (talking about you, the consumer, not their hardware/software) is having issues allowing freedom tech on its ecosystem ?

If you are serious about OpSec and want a Graphene phone be sure to source it from somewhere like Ebay/local seller using Tails and payment/address not associated with you. Then wipe and install Graphene yourself on a machine airgapped.

Then get prepaid simcard not using anything associated with you. Along with making sure to change the MAC address phone uses. Will make more detailed post if people wish. 🤙💜🫂

Ya exactly or have your lnaddress in your pofile still and people can send sats still. Just cuz one cant spam zap from wallet of satoshi on one client anymore doesnt mean much imo. Nostr and lightning can handle this detour so easily stay strong out there people.

Nostr should get through such a ban without too much friction...this censorship attack is exctly what its designed to circumvent. Responsibility lies on users to pivot to web browser / other clients even if its marginally inconvenient. If people cant make such a small change then the protocol is destined to live on the fringes forever. Support freedom tech everyone 👍
