Alaskan. Electrical enginerd. Hunter, fisherman, gardener. Ham radio operator.

That's interesting. I didn't know that online testing was as option. I had to drive 5 hours to get to my testing site, so I knocked out all three at the same time. I studied for the technician and extra and just kind of winged the general.

Taking the general is a good move. HF is way funner than VHF.

Good luck.

Yes, I've been hamming for ten years now. I recommend taking the general exam at the same time as technician. There are a lot of overlapping concepts between the two. Even if you don't pass, it let's you know what you're up against.

The cat's on the greenhouse again.

Anybody running a Raspberry Pi in their vehicle? How does it hold up to the vibration and temperature swings? How are you mounting it?

My Pi 5 just arrived and I am considering putting it in my truck to run WSJT-X and other frivolities.

Fabricate an eating utensil from a piece of wood without power tools. It's simple way to do something real and create something useful and durable with your own two hands.

-Introduce yourself to 5 people in your neighborhood.

-Plant a tree.

-Complement a stranger.

-Whittle a spoon.

-Bake something and give it away.

-Visit a graveyard. Acknowledge your mortality and contemplate your legacy.

I am using the Roof Razor to clear the north side of the house today. I love this tool.

It's normal for my area in Alaska. We get 10'-30' annually and it doesn't all melt until May.

The snow is sliding off my shed today.

I better start eating more beavers.

Moose. It's what's for dinner.

I use a compact tractor with a 5' snowblower on the back and a plow on the front. It takes the same amount of time to move an inch of snow as it does to move a foot of snow, so I wait until its done snowing or until someone needs to get out. I always try to get it done before the county grader comes down our road. I blow off the road 20' to the left of my driveway and they don't leave a giant berm in my driveway.
