Handyman engineer. I bounce from project to project. I'm often called in to do the finishing touches, bringing 90% complete projects over the finish line. I'm good at making disparate systems talk to each other. * Zaps powered by nostr:nprofile1qqsf07zg4hxyccnkdp07fppxmetpfzru3fg6mgzx3nk8r7af8qnjjyg76vulm * On-chain powered by nostr:nprofile1qqsvxq03xdev3uxehjqcdkr5lfzl5vawmcf7vm6ps73m6ghwg8y4k2shaefxp *Always Buy the Dip* #privacy #security #linux #Android #networkengineer #infosec #SimpleX #dogs #cats #pets #cooking

Who's they? And how are they manipulating feeds? Are you referring to client devs? I'm confused as to and what you're actually referring to.

Isn't it a huge data hog?

Wait.. What algorithm? Is he talking about nostr:nprofile1qqsw9n8heusyq0el9f99tveg7r0rhcu9tznatuekxt764m78ymqu36cpz4mhxue69uhkvun9deejuat50phjummwv5hsz8rhwden5te0wfjkccte9e3xjarrda5kuurpwf4jucm0d5hsz9thwden5te0wfjkccte9e6hg7r09ehkuef0avzrjf's experimental algo relay? As far as I know, nostr doesn't have some foundational algorithm that manipulates people's feeds? Am I missing something?

Is anyone else having trouble adding a wallet with #Olas? I paste my NWC connect string and hit save, but nothing happens. It doesn't save or add the wallet. ๐Ÿค” #asknostr

People don't understand how much stamina you need to make it through these rounds.

Does this allow you to blog directly on the site? Or does it just import notes from nostr? And does it pull all your notes, or just those you select to be incorporated into the site?

Whoops... That's actually my fault. I was blocking Coinbase at the router. Lol

You got a coinbase fetch that's crashing your page.

People will tell me bitcoin is a ponzi scheme, then when I explain exactly what a ponzi scheme is, they get that befuddled look on their face and say, "Oh... Well maybe it's not a ponzi scheme but it's definitely a scam." Lolwut? Way to move those goalposts and just shift to a different accusation while offering no justification.

The point of allowing ecash transactions is to attract more users, lock them into your platform, and provide flexible functionality to your users. It makes no sense to provide a crippled ecash function that can only send but not receive.

It definitely needs to be evaluated on a case by case basis. I don't think there's really a one-size-fits-all solution. Or a single correct way to go about managing your funds.

For me, I started with an honest, sober look at myself and my nature. The Delphic maxim, Know Thyself, played a huge role. I'm impulsive, I have an addictive personality, and I'm good at talking myself into things to satisfy my need for instant gratification. If didn't do something to protect my funds from my own irrational and ill-advised impulses, I would have blown through it and been left with regret.

That's why it was so important to pursue the trust option in which I couldn't access the funds until a day much further in the future. And I'm glad I did. It has meant I've had to live within my means, and work for my living, but I know that money will be there for me when it's time to retire and enjoy life.

Of course not. That's why when you receive a token minted by a mint you haven't defined in your wallet, it automatically adds that mint to your list before redemption.

Right now, Coinos only supports it's own mint. You can create tokens based on their mint which can be redeemed everywhere else because every other ecash wallet allows the establishment of other standard mints. But you can't redeem tokens minted by other mints because Coinos doesn't facilitate or allow the addition of any other mints.

That's what I'm trying to convince them to fix, but based on many discussions about this, they don't seem to see this as a problem, or at least something that should be prioritized. They basically have a crippled ecash system that only provides one-sided functionality; creating tokens for others to redeem.

Fuck all that. I do what I want. If the Bitcoin Bureau of Investigation wants to come to house and shut me down, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Can the People delegate something they themselves don't have a right to do to the government?

This is a question I've pondered for a while, but can't come up with a satisfactory answer.

Its not legal for the American people to kill someone, even in retaliation for the commission of a crime, but they can delegate that authority to the government by way of capital punishment.

There are other examples of instances where a citizen isn't allowed to do something, but can give that ability to the government.

Its sort of a conundrum. I'd like to hear some other opinions and thoughts on this.
