I’m saying clients should start adding language tags to notes when they get published so clients could just request posts with a specific language from relays without having to do that parsing client side.

I don’t buy the language bubble thing, right now we’re not cultivating users beyond English because we make it hard for people to find non-English language content.

If you are seeing lots of replyguy spam make sure you aren’t casting a massive net and adding a bunch of public relays with no rate limiting to your relay list. Keep a smaller list of relays that you trust. If it’s a public relay, ask the operator what kinds of spam protections are enabled.

Think “know your farmer” aka “know your relay operator“.

I’ve seen so many accounts with like 30 public relays. You’re just asking to get spammed 😅

Maybe one day you can do this and clients spam protections will handle everything, but we’re not there yet.

It feels like we are privy to a parallel reality. I'm only reminded when I try to relate to people outside of this space.

Good morning! Uncle is taking a break from social media, but with BTC hitting $53K, I thought I'd drop in with some positive energy and sats for you - I'm zapping every reply 🫂

When you say that Nostr can’t scale or that it can be censored, what you are really saying is that an army of developers won’t find a way to relay notes and other stuff.

I’ll take the other side of that bet.

Spam attacks are annoying, but they will make Nostr much stronger.
