Effect change anonymously. Let every man make known what kind of government would command his respect, and that will be one step towards obtaining it. -Thoreau, on Civil Disobedience Experienced policy advisor who promotes open and transparent government and free-market regulatory frameworks.

Sometimes we have to dip our toes in crypto podcasts to get a wider view of what's happening. Here is a bankless recording of a talk given at a crypto conference by the guy who sued on behalf of tornadocash (and was successful)

I had a listen and enjoyed, maybe some here will too

I'm having some real difficulty interacting with Normies. I'm trying to join a call here that someone started using Google Meets.

But apparently I can't join on an anonymous basis and I need to have a Google account. And in order to have a Google account, not only do I need email, but I also need to provide a telephone number for an SMS. Now suffice it to say there's no way I'm going to give my telephone number to Google.

ESIM providers like silent.link use phone numbers that aren't accepted by Google (I know I tried three different SMS services).

Anyone have any good suggestions on how I can create an anonymous Google account nowadays?

Aye, I fully understand. That's why I opted to go anon, so I can speak my mind. I've been focused on FATF on my line of work but I think I'm going to start volunteering for OECD related projects. I know my country was looking at implementing carf earlier this year.

Good article, though in my opinion you didn't bash Carf enough! It's the governments responsibility to ensure they are able to collect tax revenue, and not only does this pass the buck to companies, it means all wallets and exchanges will be sending information on us to domestic and FOREIGN tax authorities. The OECD is the ebtoty responsible for the FATF and through that, all anti money laundering bullshit we see today.

Huge red flag.

Yeah I get it but Google and big tech surveillance is not welcomed on any device I buy. Doesn't matter how open hardware is.

Should be a top priority for them to have graphene working in my opinion.

Yeah, I am waiting for them to have some sort of degoogled option. For a "no big tech" company, having 100% Google Android really doesn't fit the ethos.

They are thinking about it, but as far as I know hasn't been done yet.

Very excited :

A minimalist e-ink phone with 6+ days battery, open android (degoogled) operating system, replacable battery AND PHYSICAL PRIVACY SWITCHES???

Yes please! Even allows side loading apk apps.

ROFL. Sent that last pic to our local crypto group. They do love their ETH

I swear it was something completely unexpected. The senior official (the top person in the room) just blurted this out, saying other comments about how " those people" won't believe the truth and perpetuate their false narratives.

It was hard not to stand up and tell her to fuck herself.
