To know who you want to be at the end of your life, and be on the path of becoming that man.

Every time I buy a new tool or product for work I start by looking at the most expensive options and look at the differences all the way down. Usually the premium brand is around 2-4x the cheapest Amazon option but it's almost always worth it in longevity/durability/functionality.

The scraps i think he is referring to is "whatever the person wants to throw out to the internet." Whether it's good or bad, it's virtually always inauthentic or incomplete.

Hold on to that as long as you can. It's a beautiful thing to speak openly about the topics that touch your soul.

Long ago when I was in my late teens, I would have these conversations with my close friends. We enjoyed the intellectual exploration of all kinds of topics with absolutely no filters. That all changed when they went to university and I did not. Despite the fact that I would still read the same or similar books, had the same interest in metaphysics, ontology, epistemology, theology and whatever else, they stopped engaging in conversations with me on these things. To the point where my one friend (best man at my wedding), told me he didn't want to talk to me about these topics. He spent 8 years in college on history and philosophy degrees and he attributed doing so to our conversations and my encouragement. I'm convinced that his time in school simultaneously crushed his curiosity and filled him with a feeling of superiority that make him feel like he was above whatever I might have to say or think about a topic that I am well read on but "uneducated" in. I greatly miss those conversations.

Welcome back to the gulch. Just remember when you're out there feeding that system that it is destined to fail, and that your efforts are only helping prolong the inevitable.

Bryan Adams has said on stage many times, as an innuendo before playing the song that playing the song in front of his parents makes him uncomfortable. He was also only 10 years old in 1969.

I'm just a simple man, not a salesperson or anything. But I'll give it a shot.

Here's my sales pitch for Europe. And it's titled...

"Where has the optimism gone in Europe?"

Imagine a world where everything becomes easier, more efficient, cheaper, and safer.

This is the promise of a Europe where every individual has a digital identity that everything - yes, you read that right, everything - is linked to.

One single identity safely guarded by our democratically elected institutions, with all sorts of safeguards, so it can't be misused. Maybe a few teething problems at first, but otherwise perfect.

Wow, imagine a Europe where citizens are rewarded for good behavior. All the human potential that will be unleashed. That would be wonderful.

No hunger, no poverty, no corruption, peace and prosperity everywhere. And when the digital Euro comes, it can be easily linked to it through the central bank. Perfect!! Just think how much easier taxes will be. I'm so enthusiastic.

Actually, everything gets better when everything is centrally regulated through one central identity, right?

We'll become much more competitive with other parts of the world. Robust economy and everything. We're in for unprecedented prosperity. We can protect ourselves better, because we can monitor everything 24 hours a day, and if something goes wrong, we can intervene quickly. Especially if we link it to AI. Great, right!!!

Our children will be so proud of us for achieving this.

And of course, there are those skeptical people who say we won't be able to make this dream a reality. Or they think it's scary. Don't listen to them. They're just those crazy people who are against Europe and want everything to stay the same.

The best part is, this gem of an idea for humanity is also summarized in one image (see below)...

It's so nice that there are people who come up with these kinds of things. And invent rules so that everyone has a level playing field. Who can be against this, everyone having equal chances?

What a shame that not more people are standing up for this on stage!

So go ahead and stand on that soapbox... One people. One Europe. One identity!

Greetings,

Happiness is a choice.

It is a reflection of a mode of interaction with the world, with other people, and with God.

Your feelings inside will reflect from your mode of being, so in choosing that mode you choose your own happiness or misery.

The only thing that should ever be inside a mcguffin is another mcguffin
