I met with yet another blockchain, web3, crypto enthusiast yesterday... he works for a software development company that does full stack blockchain development, blah, blah, blah...

But respect, the dude was curious about Ekasi, and made the effort to come to visit, which is awesome!

However, again, he had no idea what lightning is, he operates under the assumption that Bitcoin is too slow for everday transactions, that we need other blockchains to solve that problem, he's entirely unfamiliar with the concept of sats, he thinks only in terms of BTC, he had no idea Bitrefill existed, and he's never bought anything with Bitcoin and was largely unaware that it's possible.

Yet he figured that NFTs could solve loads of problems.

But we had a great conversation, chatted for more than an hour, and he left with a lightning wallet and some sats, ready to start with the basics.

Hyper-bitcoinization has nothing to do with hype.

And everything to do with slow, focused and steady progress.

Long term, we need private money or it just gets traced / taxed / seized by the state anyway.

I can't stress enough how many people tell me that no social media app does what they want to do.

X only works for famous people. Instagram only works for picture-perfect people. Linked-in is a giant circle jerk. Slack is not productive. Discord is a dumpsterfire. NextDoor is barely a glorified classified. Finding good communities on Reddit is harder than finding a good show on Netflix. Facebook only appeals to nostalgia. TikTok is a mindless stream of the same stuff over and over again. WhatsApp groups annoy users more than help. Etc.

Which is really interesting after the billions of dollars these companies have put into developing them. It's almost as if their poorly designed incentive structure led these teams to fully ignore the user.

Just continue to derive & provide value on Nostr as you see fit while remembering that value is subjective.

It's a 10x better protocol that the centralised bullshit other App platform's use.

We don't need to do anything more than that for Nostr to become the dominant protocol.

More clients & features will come as we discover & scratch our own itches.
