Messaging is tricky for sure. Over time more and more people in my network have switched to Signal but it has been a slow build. I use that and SimpleX most of the time and only SMS when necessary.
It has been a fun project, definitely a good learning experience, still tons to learn, but I probably won't stick with it unless the woke nonsense @ nixos.org goes away. That always leads to a degradation in quality.
