decentralize all the things

Reliable 200km link from central coast to Sussex inlet. Pretty impressive

The ⚡️ nodes are back!

With the mysterious disappearance of Overkills nodes the Sydney mesh is much degraded. BTQ and SIR repeaters still online but no solid link to the rest of Sydney

Fully migrated to Meshcore now. Still got a small node listening on meshtastic, but most the action is on core now.

Changing name to be more 'mesh inclusive'

Sydney mesh has begun transitioning to Meshcore. 85% of the core routers have already switched over.

Just clocked over the 600 unique nodes mark, thats over a 48 day period. Still adding around 5 new nodes a day on average.

Wow, got a position update from skunkworks at 10,000m altitude. Thats cruising height.

500 unique nodes discovered. Still only hovering around 100 "online" as measured by the android app. Hop limits seem to be the biggest limiting factor to a larger mesh.

Unique node count now up just over 400. Growing slowly at around 5 new nodes detected a day. (no MQTT)

Just hit 100 online nodes, Ch util hovering around 20%. Unique nodes just over 230.

Definitely slowed down at 204 unique nodes. We should be able to bump that up to about 220 if the Canberra link comes back online.

180 known nodes. 80 online!

Amazing, looking back just 6 months I was so excited about 30 nodes in the list. Now we are pushing 150-200 nodes. Excited to see where this goes.

Sydney mesh channel utilisation hovering around 30%, at this rate of growth we will soon need to diversify away from the default channel.

Central coast briefly joined the Sydney mesh last night. Would be great to make that a permanent link.

Canberra is now permanently showing up in my node list which is impressive. However getting a message delivered and ack'd is rare.

3 hops for 130km link to Exeter. Not bad.

The Anicetus node and new Mt Gibraltar nodes are pushing some serious distances now.

Turns out the 700+km link to Brisbane was just a GPS config error. Pitty.

Now getting more than 80 nodes appear in 48 hours which is causing my RAK node to recycle nodes in the list, which then gives endless notifications. Pretty annoying. The app needs to keep track of recycled nodes to prevent re- notifications.
