Just exploring the adventures of homesteading while enjoying the family life! We are @wilsonfamilyhomestead and @homesteading_endeavors on Instagram

This little hickory tree has almost doubled its size in 2 weeks time! I know its gonna be awhile before any nuts fall, but it's fun to watch all the trees grow!

I love how cool this Muscovy looks with her little duckling! So many interesting colors you can get out oof them!

Here is our new Saint Croix ram that is almost ready to be in with the ladies!

Want to add in some good parasite resistance to the flock!

I've operated equipment before but never dug swales before. I think the first ones were a bit too deep but time will tell I guess!

It's warming up out there, nice to have a big pool for the dogs to cool off in!

The German shepherds don't really like the water and didn't last long in there.

The lab, on the other hand, doesn't want to come out for everything! Except maybe to go chase a ball!

P.S. I only own 2 of these dogs haha

Yeah the more things we can exchange and not have to use money for the better!

Just traded 7 chicks we hatched and got 4 pekin ducks!

We only have muscovy ducks so it will be fun to have a new breed around!

Okay cool, well I'll give it a shot. Maybe stick them in the same jar as the willows cause that can help. Thanks!

This lilac doesn't bloom for long but it's beautiful while it lasts!

I want to cut some of the suckers off and root them in water and plant more around here. Has anyone done that before with lilac? Easy like willow cuttings?

Haha no! Would have taken months! They are like 350 ft long! Had a medium small excavator

Well we basically planted a bunch in 4 different areas. They did better where we mounded up dirt. But other than just keeping them watered, we didnt do much haha

4ft it's right on the verge of being able to reach to the middle. But you have so much more area than a 3ft wide bed
