We are wired to overestimate our abilities and underestimate our opponents'.
This is true for people and nations, especially where slogans like "you can do anything..." and"no one loses" are common.
But it's important to point out that the repercussions of such miscalculation are severe.
For example, the US currently believes it can win the war (pick one), when it objectively can't, no matter how you twist or turn it.
Entering a big war with this error is a recipe for a disaster.

Not that the democrats would be any better, but at least we all knew they're full of it. But for Trump to run his entire campaign on a promise to End Wars to then do the opposite, is not cool.

Central control has reduced us to mere clones of superficiality and indifference.
YouTube influencers for example, are copies of other "successful" influencers who don't provide anything original or of substance to help them or their "followers". Meanwhile, YouTube is relentlessly cancelling those who speak reason and warn communities of their blind spots.
I attribute that to central control, network effect, and the reward systems it creates.
For a central power to maintain control, it has to cancel opposition and reward blind obedience, thus, shutting down all feedback mechanisms from the decision maker - rendering them blind.
This is no fluff or green leftist nonsese. Without difference and opposition and genuine dialogue, the feedback loop of the nation dies, which puts the fate of an entire nation in the hands of a blind leader.
When central powers reward superficiality and indifference, so will the entire country.

Ukraine 'starts preparing to build a NUCLEAR bomb
Ukraine could develop a rudimentary nuclear bomb within months if Donald Trump pulls US military aid, a briefing paper prepared for the country's Ministry of Defence has revealed.
The weapon would be built from plutonium and use similar technology to the nuclear bomb dropped on Nagasaki in 1945, the report stated.
Despite giving up its nuclear arsenal in 1996, Kyiv is still in control of nine operational reactors and has significant expertise on how to build the weapons.
It comes after Trump reportedly backed the shock ultimatum President Volodymyr Zelensky gave NATO last month when he seemed to demand either Ukraine is granted membership of the bloc or they would become a nuclear power.
Zelensky later clarified he had meant there was no alternative security guarantee and Kyiv has since denied they are considering building a nuclear bomb.
According to The Times, the briefing paper prepared for the Ministry of Defence reads: 'Creating a simple atomic bomb, as the United States did within the framework of the Manhattan Project, would not be a difficult task 80 years later.'
'The weight of reactor plutonium available to Ukraine can be estimated at seven tons β¦ A significant nuclear weapons arsenal would require much less material,' it continued.
