beauty of nostr is, while there is no central authority to censor unwanted content or users, other users and devs took their own safety measures while being unable to censor.

this is a good example to differentiate the state and government. even these two are merged into each other in today's world, they are different. state is more likely about ruling itself. forming the set of rules by the individuals to keep the state alive. it's bottom to top

nostriches formed a state like entity that includes groups of people (users, relay operators and devs.) these groups consist like minded people which came to a conclusion that unwanted contents need to be filtered out and they changed their - let's say - position to ignore/filter out that content. and all the users that want this new 'position' to be in effect gathered around and acted accordingly

like saying if you want to be a citizen in this country, these are the rules you should acknowledge first (ie flag, language, culture etc)

now government (govt) is about ruling others. a group of people decorated with some overpowered authority over the other individuals and/or entities. and if other individuals or entities don't act as govt wants there will be consequences. so it's basically top to bottom.

there's no govt on nostr. no one can "make" others to act one way and no can be held responsible for their actions (like their posts before, those include naked asian female photos) there are no consequences for them. they still post their content, they still spam the universal channel. But we don't see them. If anyone wants to see them, they are there. just change your relay settings.

state is necessary for human society. set of rules, security, common sense are necessary for the society to improve. govt is not. it is helpful for some occasion but not as necessary. the problem in the world right now is govts not the states. a group of people that has authority over the others is the problem. and this problem consists anywhere in the world.

so next time when you yell at someone "fckn statist" you should know better now.
