Release v0.17.5: 0 Follows no more.

The app now caches your follows and uses them to start up. The worst it can happen is to go back to the Amethyst version after updating your follows (or relays) from another client.

- Fixes issue with overriding follow list to zero

- Fixes Notification Dot for Zaps

- Faster notification updates

- Refactoring the saving of user preferences

- More caching to increase the speed of updating lists across the app

- Potentially fixing Notifications crash on Samsungs

The zap sign in the note? Nothing different when I long press that - it opens wos as before and still set to 1000sats Nothing i press in the wos changes either. Maybe the amethyst update hasn't arrived for me yet?

Compared to Iris this is FAST and a smooth experience.

Please consider:

+ dark mode

+ cache profiles images

When closing and then opening the app the profiles images on the time-line are gone and get downloaded again.

Maybe better to show first the cached images and then update slowly.

Change your phone to dark mode in Settings / Display and the app will be in dark mode as well.

I've been using 0.17.5 for 20 min

Followed a few more accounts

I'm now following 1 account!

Entire list got wiped.

I was following ~335 😭

How do I get it restored from the backup?

Humm.. If you are seeing 1, the backup was overriden by that 1 :(

Do you have your keys in any other client? The app doesnt have a way to reset follows anymore. I am not sure how this is possible without an external reset.

My nsec never went into any other client. Only Amethyst.

This wipe happend to me only once very long ago with Amethyst.

Everything was okay since then, until I started using 0.17.5

Humm I will do some research. The backup only works to block clean ups of the list. If 1 follow is read, it think it must be a valid one...

But that list got shrunk too. I had 15 more relays before (long list but most of them were disabled, upload only

Could you add an indicator on people's profile, showing whether they follow you or not, like most clients do?

So you can see at first glance when they post whether you follow them, and whether they follow you...

My list of relays isn't just shorter. It was overwritten with different relays. And different parameters.

Relays I haven't seen before, some of them you're using.

Is that the default list for Amethyst? 🤔

Yes, that is the default list. Which tells me that during the 20 mins the app didnt download any new relay information or follow information and probably wasn't even able to save a configuration because the new version has never seen anything else.

So, first time users can still suffer with the same problem if their list is not downloaded. Once they receive the first, the backup takes care of any potential issue.

Updated and join some more npub and in the end I follow only 2 persons. Can't get it right. Used Iris.io and all it's there. So on the app did logout and login but still following 2 persons

Super minor thing I've noticed in this build. Sometimes on a fresh start of the app, the numerator and denominator of the relay counter is doubled for a few minutes, then it corrects itself
