The first step is to tell them to clear their entire schedule for the next 72 hours.

Then, start with a 6 hour rant about the Federal Reserve. Don’t let them interrupt or go to the bathroom.

Next, they need to build their own computer using only items that can be found at an abandoned RadioShack. They’ll use this computer to set up their #Bitcoin  and Lightning node.

Then, have them generate their first seed via dice rolls with dice they personally crafted from whale bones.

Make sure they add a pass phrase that is a random string of characters created based on solar flare randomization. They should also write the algorithm to generate this themselves, obviously.

Once all this is done ask them “are you ready to start using Bitcoin?”

If they respond “yes” SLAP THEM TWICE and say “NO ONE IS EVER READY.”

Now, offer to send them some Bitcoin but DO NOT SEND THEM ANY BECAUSE BITCOIN IS ONLY FOR STACKING NOT SPENDING.

Then hog tie and blindfold them and drive them to the middle of bear-infested Alaskan forest. Leave them with only an OpenDime to defend themselves.

And that’s it! Now they’re finally ready to *start* learning about Bitcoin.

We’ve been thinking about the best sustainable subscription model for filter.nostr.wine (and our other upcoming features + additional relays) while still keeping nostr.wine accessible with only a one-time payment.

Haven’t built anything yet, but here’s what we came up with:

- Same one-time admission fee for nostr.wine (18888) sats gets you write access to nostr.wine and 1 month of access to filter.nostr.wine (+ others)

- After the first month included, filter.nostr.wine will require an ongoing monthly fee (amount tbd). You will receive a DM with a link to add time to your account in advance of its expiration.

- On the website you will be able to choose the amount you want to pay (minimum 1 month fee). We will automatically convert this amount in to days of access.

- Purchases over 6 months will automatically have their time doubled (1 year+ is 50% off). Perhaps a lesser discount for 3+ months?

Personally, I'm done using Fountain for podcasts: not FOSS, ads, keeps crashing and uses a custodial wallet.

Back to using AntennaPod. The one thing I miss is to send boostagrams. Seriously there's no way to send boostagrams independently using my own independent LN wallet?

The closest thing I found was using geyser.fund where it I can send boostagrams to Citadel Dispatch but that is the only podcast there.

How can "Podcasting 2.0" be such a closed silo that you can only use it with closed source players with integrated custodial wallets?Disappointing...😔
